Fourth Test: Cycle 2, Month 3, Day 20 -- cheesecake is a far off dream

[She gives the overhead black hole a glare, but doesn't focus on it. Again we continue with the theme of not sounding particularly pleased.Just when I thought this beach holiday couldn't get any more fun, we get black holes too. Great, wonderful, fan-fucking-tastic ( Read more... )

Well, that's one way of putting it.

At least it's accurate.

If a little sarcastic, but yes.

Well, sarcasm is one of my specialties, after all.

I'm afraid that I am not useful with these 'electronics' either. They do not exist on my world.

We have electronics and stuff back home, to a certain extent, but nothing like this.

But trust me, if it exists, I've broken it, at least once. ...Mostly on accident.

You're thinking of dango at a time like this...?

... I'll have to admit, I'd do anything for some ramen right about now.

Yeah, why not? I mean, if we're gonna have idle fantasies while we starve to death, might as well be about something good, right?

I'm running out of food too-kamo...

Ramen would be so good!

Or mama's cooking... I miss mama-kamo.

We won't be here forever, right?

Ramen would be awesome. There's this one ramen place back home...

But no worries! We'll probably be eaten by the giant black hole before we starve to death.

Dango, eh? I don't think I've had any in years--well, at least not of the genuine Japanese variety.

You know, I don't think that any damage to the ship would actually do it any harm. Never know, bash on the control panel long enough and it might jog something into place! [not that he hadn't tried that method already. several times.]

Good stuff, isn't it? We get off this heap of holes I'll find you some.

[She wrinkles her nose in amusement at this suggestion.] Nah, because someone might get the idea into their head that I broke it more, somehow. Though 'percussive maintenance' is the way I usually get my TV working when it breaks.

Brilliant! [grins eagerly]

Ohhh, I'm an expert in percussive maintenance. Just about anyway. There's nothing a good whack from a mallet won't fix.

But why would you think someone would blame you for breaking it? Is it a habit of yours to perform such maintenance techniques on wayward electronic devices?

Yes?

Well, no, but things tend to break in my vicinity. I usually get other people to work electronics that aren't mine. That way it isn't technically my fault when it breaks.
