Coming attractions
While waiting for the movie to start, it occurred to me that we're approaching the ten year anniversary of the initial Lord of the Rings film. The Fellowship of the Ring debuted in the US on December 19th, 2001. Does anyone know if the studios plan to do an event commemorating this? SPOILER

I would've loved to see Alexander Skarsgard in the lead role for Thor. His dad is in it, and I think it would've been fun to have a father/son duo. Despite my sadness over this, I'm still looking forward to it.

I am hoping to write up a more detailed review later but I pretty much agree with you. I would have liked a bit more development for Vanko and to give Pepper a bit more to do, or at least a chance to show her doing something awesome like in the first film. But still it's really well put together and nothing was "wrong" just a few things could have been further expanded upon to make them more awesome.

I worried that it veered a little close to introducing too many new characters -- the "too many villains" problem, but in this case, introducing Black Widow and Nick Fury, plus Vanko ... but it worked out. It didn't get too crowded.

Yes, exactly -- would've loved to see Pepper doing more. It did make me happy when Hammer patronizingly addressed her as "Honey," and I was like, "Oh, bad move," and then she had the cops arrest him. :)

I look forward to reading your review!
