I've put down Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell temporarily so I can read the new Wheel of Time book, Knife of Dreams.
I'm about 100 pages into it thus far, so no spoilers (and please don't tell me anything after that point, either). Events are moving at a fast pace, however.
Anybody else reading it at the moment?

Anyway, I've put JS & MN down for a bit too, now I'm reading The Confusion (second in Neil Stephenson's Baroque Cycle).

I really must do a review for you of the wonderful Tintara Shiraz. We managed to get hold of some. Next time we open one, I will try to force myself to stop swooning over the deliciousness and type something up about it. :)

I'm drinking a cabernet sauvignon that won a gold in its category at the NC State fair right now. (Iron Gate Vineyards Cabernat Sauvingnon) It's... okay. Definitely not bad. Definitely not up to the standards of California cabernets either. I want to write up a blog entry about it as well, but I'm a bit afraid to. A gold medal should indicate a wine that I can review very favorably, and well... the fact that it doesn't gives you a clue about NC wines. So I'm trying to compose something that's both kind AND honest. Ah, well, the industry is very young in this state, and I have very high hopes that it will get better. In the meantime, if you drink NC wine, I suggest something from the Yadkin valley or one of the Biltmore estate wines.

However, one of the beautiful things about being an oenophile is that there's always another wine that you haven't tasted. :)

I can imagine that you do miss being on the pulse of new releases and what people are reading.
