If anyone could do justice for Wonder Woman, it's Whedon. I look at the Catwoman and shudder at what could have been an awesome movie and instead we go an oversexualized main character and silly plot involving Catwoman vs. evil makeup companies.

Whedon, if anyone, should be able to modernize Wonder Woman without taking away her classic elements and probably make it a metaphor on the power of women without beating you over the head with it. Or so I hope.

I'd agree with that. I think he understands how to write strong female characters without turning them into caricatures, and can balance wit and self-awareness with drama. Given his past track record, I think he's a good choice.
