I was the same way about Criminal Intent. I wasn't into it like I was Law&Order but then... I started watching it some over the summer and then got the first season DVDs for Christmas and I've absolutely fallen in love with Goren. I actually went and blew my most recent paycheck on season three. For some off reason, they released season three on DVD before season two so I have to wait until they get that one out of DVD to pick it up. Very strange. O_o
Oh... and if you want Goren icons... *points*

Yeah, they did a similar thing with SVU - they released season one, then season five. I think it has something to do with syndication rights or something. Or maybe I'm just pulling that completely out of my ass. You never know XD

I LOVE CI. (That wasn't in all caps, just the love part. If you're reading it outloud in your head.) I know a lot of L&O fans who don't like it, and I can totally see why, because it isn't really at all the same as L&O regular type, or SVU, which is the same as regular type but with creepier people. But I love it. Goren is just so...crazy. But in a way I can totally relate to.

I'm glad that you've been posting about your TV watching. Because then I don't feel quite so lame when I post "I LOVE CROSSING JORDAN." as, like, my only post of the month.

Also, I totally want a dead people show icon, but I suck at making icons, so if you come across any decent ones, let me know?

Oh no!

That wasn't from anonymous! That was from me!

(Though probably you could have figured that out.)

I totally did XD I read it and as soon as I got to "That wasn't in all caps" I knew it was you.

I didn't really get into it until a couple seasons in, to be honest, mostly because I was like, "Why should I watch this show when I could be watching XYZ on Sunday nights?" But clearly this is a superior choice. Although I'm not grooving on Chris Noth being added to the rotation. The show is not about typical police work, imo, and Chris Noth is totally your typical cop. That's sort of the point, I think, that Det. Logan is "your typical cop" in basically all the L&O franchises he's been in. So. Not loving that, so much. (Plus, I love Goren and Eames so much, omg.)

I'm glad my teevee geekery makes you feel better about yourself XD If I find good icons, I'll point you in that direction!

I agree about the whole Detective Logan thing, though I do love continuity, so I'm glad he existed before. But yeah, I'm not a huge fan of him being on this show, because what I like about it is its quirkiness. (Also, their increasingly lame explanations as to why major case was called. (The mayor's mistress lives in this aprtment building? Okay, then! That makes perfect sense!) I find those hilarious.)

Did I ever tell you that one time we got a quizbowl question about L&O:CI, and I got all excited with the lead-in part, and then the question ended up being, like, "What's the lead guy's name?"?

AND THEN I COULDN'T REMEMBER.

Oh man. That was so tragic. I knew his real life name, and I could describe many of his cases in detail, but I couldn't remember his name. My L&O obsessive stalker fan credentials got revoked. Alas.

I adore CI. My brother got me started and now the entire family is addicted -- my parents and I watch USA at 8:00 like clockwork. Even just to see which one is on ( ... )

Eames is awesome XD Like you said, she's really the perfect fit for Goren, she's the straightman to his psychopath. They work almost intuitively together which is pretty cool in a world where teevee executives seem to go out of their way to create dramatic tension between partners. I like that she's the only person who seems to be able to follow his line of thought or action or anything all of the time. And she's just awesome XD Not a big fan of the weird relationship between Goren and... uh, the redheaded chick who replaced Eames while she was pregnant. The dynamic is just off, to me ( ... )

I have never, ever seen an episode of CI. Plenty of the original and SVU, but never CI. I should put that on my to do list.

(Also, did you see this post on rent_the_movie? Because... *amused*

my brother graduated from geneseo with a dual major in english and communications/journalism and my mom asked what he wanted to do for graduate work. my brother replied that he wanted to go in to "criminal psychology because--" and before he could finish his sentence i said "you just want to be goren" and he goes "yup."
XD
silly brother of mine.
