So, I'm feeling better physically which means, of course, I've backslided mentally. Hurrah. This morning instead of sleeping for twelve hours and not wanting to get out of bed because I couldn't breathe and felt sick, I slept for twelve hours and didn't want to get out of bed because EVERYTHING IS THE WORST

Charles is like, "No, oh man, it's so sexy!" and Erik is like, "YOU WERE HIT BY A CAR. YOU WERE STRUCK BY A MOVING VEHICLE YOU JUST HAD SURGERY FOR FUCK'S SAKE ARE YOU BRAIN DAMAGED? OH GOD! YOU'RE BRAIN DAMAGED!"

It's pretty great. But totally distracting me from the nineteen other things I should be working on. Whoops. I'm not good at this multiple works in progress thing D:

Once Erik gets over the immediate trauma of "your husband was hit by a car" and seeing Charles all small and pale in the hospital bed and dealing with his lingering PTSD from his parents' death in a car accident, he does grow excessively fond of the pin in Charles' leg. It's his second favorite bit of metal on Charles, right behind his wedding ring, but easily outstripping the watch Erik gave him when they moved in together.

I only read your XMen stuff, or stuff you rec (or extremely rarely, other recs that come across my f-list). So as someone who's mostly in Inception now, what's wrong with the XMFC kink meme? Clearly you don't have a problem with the sexytimes stuff... is it just that everyone there has wrong opinions? Our kinkmeme is where most of the best stuff can be found -- often anonymously, in threaded comments that are in no way possible to track and you just pray to whatever that they'll repost eventually... but yeah, good stuff.

I dislike kink memes in general. I dislike the culture they inspire, I guess. While I think a kink meme, in theory--a place where people can anonymously request and write stories they might not feel comfortable claiming otherwise--is a great idea, I feel like it's turned into a long-form anonymous request list, with little emphasis on kink. More than that, though, I feel like it promotes a culture of "more is better," where people frequently don't betaread and don't plot out a story before jumping into it. They just want to get as much as possible up as fast as possible, without thinking of long-term considerations for their story
