I woke up at five am to an awful charley horse. My leg still hurts, man. I need to eat more bananas. Although, actually, now that I think about it, maybe that's foot cramps? I think it is. Maybe they're the same thing? Or the same cause, I mean. I should google that ( Read more... )

+ Favourite female and male character

It's so hard to narrow it down to one each! I love everyone!
Favorite male character is probably Rodney. No surprise there. Favorite female character is...ugh, a tie between Sam and Teyla? Is that allowed? Because they're both awesome.

+ Favourite scene

So many to choose from! Hm. My favorite episode is "Doppelganger." My favorite scene...either beer on the pier in "The Shrine" or the balcony pushing off scene in "Hide and Seek." Ooo, or whale-watching! I do love the whale-watching!

+ Favourite ship

John/Rodney. I know. I'm not original. Followed by Sam/Radek? Do I at least get points for originality there? :D? :D? :D?

+ Unpopular opinionSO MANY. Um, here's a fairly innocuous one. I don't like Carson. Never did. I didn't actively DISlike him, but I didn't feel much/care much when he died and I was super annoyed when they brought him back. The relationship they fabricated between him and Rodney irritated me and he was just as pointless when they brought him back as he was when he died in the ( ... )

Okay, so, headcanon time--the Ancient gene and the X-gene are the same thing. Sometimes the ability to interface with Ancient tech is the only manifestation, but anyone with a mutation caused by the X-gene can also operate Ancient tech at varying levels. Charles, given his ability to charm everyone and everything, and Erik, given his kinship with metal, are particularly skilled with it.

The door slides open. Erik immediately wills it closed because, ugh, light, and it's 2am AST and he only just fell asleep and he has to be up for a patrol of the south wing in three hours and 2am AST, for fuck's sake, who the hell is ( ... )

And I keep having all these deep thoughts but now Margaret is gone for the day so I will unload them here.

I feel like Erik doesn't get the whole "leave no man behind" concept. Like, when he was in the military before this and when he first started with the SGC, he brought everyone home because it was his job, not out of any actual affection for them. He wasn't as dogged as Sheppard and didn't quite understand the obsession. Now that he's started to bond with his team (as much as he really, really hates to say it), he understands and it kind of annoys him. He wants to go back to just thinking of them as cargo, but he honestly gets twitchy if Charles wanders off on his own for too long or Hank gets imprisoned for something stupid or Sean falls into a ditch or Moira--well, Moira can mostly take care of herself and she'd probably break both his arms if she found out he was worried about her, so best not to think too long on that one ( ... )

I've mostly had good comic shop experiences, too, which makes me glad those shops are out there even as it makes me sadface at all the bad ones!

Batwoman is AWESOME. Not sure if she'd be to your particular taste, though I suppose hot ladies who make out with other ladies and also fight crime should be to EVERYONE's taste. But I do highly recommend it in general.

It's kind of amusing to me because Hub is kind of a hang out spot for all of us occasionally (it's literally two blocks from our apartment and we both pass it every day), even though I think last night was the first time I've ever bought anything there and most of us aren't weekly comics readers.

Hot ladies who make out with other ladies is ALWAYS to my taste XD

I think I will definitely end up picking it up now that I have ~*a job*~ and such. Jesse told me I should start with a particular trade to get the background before picking up #1. He also spent ten minutes trying to sell me a Superman book even though I don't really care about Superman? "This will MAKE YOU care about Superman! And, after you read it, no other Superman book will ever match up, so you don't even have to bother reading any others!"

(I still don't think I care about Superman enough to bother.)

Was the Superman by Grant Morrison? If so, I can give an anti-recommendation. :) I mean, All-Star Superman is ok, in parts, but it's really not as great as everyone says, and if you don't care about Superman, there's no reason to try.

As for Batwoman, it's a good idea to read the "Elegy" hardcover and/or trade first, because that (her Detective Comics run) was her major introduction/solo book before this one. It gives her backstory and is REALLY well-done, writing and art-wise. Then you can start with the new series. :)

Yep, that was the Superman one! I just...have never given a crap. And probably never will. Which I'm sure is sad, but there are lots of iconic superheros I already love so...yes.

"Elegy" was the trade he told me to start with, by tempting me with how pretty the art is. ::shakes fist:: Damn these pretty things and my desire to continue to look at them!

I will take your word that such a crossover would be amazing, because you generally have excellent internet opinions. But I've never seen SGA :O (PS don't tell the internet I said that)

I feel like I already know all of your fandom opinions on the fandoms I care about. So I will answer this for you.

Kait's answers for X-Men First Class:
+ Favourite female and male character: Moira MacTaggart and Charles Xavier
+ Favourite scene: Ceiling snuggletime on the jet
+ Favourite ship: Erik/Charles (Daycare verse)
+ Unpopular opinion: Did not believe that Hugh Jackman's cameo was the best part of the movie

:D? :D? :D?

You win at knowing my ~*deep thoughts on XMFC*~. Although I would say that, for unpopular opinion, another valid answer would be, "IT WAS FUCKING MIAMI, YOU IDIOTS, I DON'T CARE HOW CUTE CHUCK AND MOIRA'S COATS ARE, IT IS NOT COLD AND THE WATER IS ABOUT 70 DEGREES SO STOP WRITING ABOUT HYPOTHERMIA D:< D:< D:<"

I haven't made this mistake yet, but I would've if I hadn't read this, because I actually didn't catch that they were in Miami. I thought they were still near DC! /o\

At least I'll know better now...

X-Files!

I was going to be completely unoriginal and say West Wing, but I feel like I might know all those answers. XD

Also, hi! I'm back and married and might not be crazy and afraid of exploding from ~*~TEH STRESS~*~ anymore! Yay!

OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE MARRIED! It's so crazy! And awesome! I hope everything went well! And also you should post some pictures ;D But I'm glad you're back because I've missed you! ♥

+ Favourite female and male character
Mulder and Scully, obvs. I'm super by the book in this fandom, pretty much.

+ Favourite scene
Hmmm........so many to choose from... I've always been fond of the bit at the end of "The Unnatural" when they're playing baseball together ♥

+ Favourite ship
Mulder/Scully! Oh, one of the OTPs of my childhood ♥

+ Unpopular opinion
I never really liked Krychek very much. The character annoyed me, I didn't ship him with Mulder, and I didn't find Nick Lea attractive at all.
