Oh, Mondays. I am not a fan. I mean, I'm really not a fan of all the week days right now, but a cold, snowy Monday after spending the weekend with my ladyfriend? I am especially not in favor of this

I am always looking for good books for my nephew. He is currently 1 and I'm determined to make him a reader. Any books you want to recommend, have at it!
For starters, how long is your nephew's attention span? Can he sit for longer stories yet, or does he get fidgety? Also, is he into a particular animal or object or anything like that?
Anything by Sandra Boynton. My favorites by her are Hippos Go Berserk and Barnyard Dance, but there are a million and they're all hilarious and fun to read.
Go, Dog, Go! and the other Dr. Seuss board books. They take the longer Seuss stories and kind of make them shorter and easier to understand, but just as fun.
The Karen Katz lift-the-flap books are adorbs and good for wandering attention spans.
Smash Crash by Jon Scieszka is adorbs, but might still be a little long for him? idk, take a look, see what you think. Same with The Bear Snores On by ...frig, last name Wilson. Can't remember the first name.
As if my kids don't have enough books, I'm always on the lookout for book recs.
Nearly 10 year old girl who likes zombies an unhealthy amount, dinosaurs, fantasy, and wants to be a paleontologist when she grows up.
5 and 1/2 year old boy who likes robots, spaceships, superheroes, and anything and everything to do with Batman. He wants to be a teacher (but I suspect will end up an engineer).
Tangential question... do you know of any nifty tricks for looking up children's books based on plot? There are several I remember from my childhood, but I'd need to be able to look through plot summaries of books, by genre, published in the 70s and 80s.
When I took up knitting, my mom reminded me of the picture book Sparrow Socks, which I found copies of, no problem. (And they smell like old books, yay!) Not knowing the titles makes it 100x more difficult, though. I need a Big Book of Other Books Published In The 70s or something. :P
