why is LJ a peacock?

I don't mind it--I never understand why people get all bent out of shape about LJ's header changing, especially when everyone creams themselves everytime Google does it--but I don't entirely understand. Is it Peacock O'Clock? National Peacock Awareness Month

I like the headers changing all the time. Peacock feathers are supposed to be bad luck, though, so perhaps there are some superstitious LJers out there.

I'm not sure if we're supposed to say, but I nommed your fic at the COTA (although I doubt I was the only one). I nommed it because it stuck with me for days afterwards, and I went back and read it several times. It felt like what we should have seen in Series three - them trying to get back on their feet and learning to work as a trio with their issues and insecurities and chemistry. The characterisations were so spot on (your voices are always so true, and this felt exactly like how they'd interact), and their grief and coping mechanisms were perfect. I didn't nom many fics as I like a lot of TW fic and am indecisive, but few fics have stuck with me like Overflow did, and I wanted to do something to show how much I loved it.

I actually haven't heard anyone complaining about this one yet, which is a miracle. (Bitching about other people's stupid bitching is one of my main pastimes XD)

I don't think there's anything against telling someone you nommed them (I think solsticezero nommed me last time around and actually asked in advance to make sure it was okay XD), and I am so, so, SO flattered! Because, yeah, I love that story and I DO spend far too much time bitching on twitter about how no one had read it. That's always the way, though. My favorite TWW fic that I wrote and the favorite SGA fic that I wrote also only got a handful of comments while other, less meaningful stories got dozens. And I know not to measure how much I like a story in comment, etc, but, you know, my mind can't help it XD

I like the new headers. They are pretty and colorful and I enjoy them.
