Ha! Yes! That would be the one I idolize :)

The other is Nick Burd, whose first book, The Vast Fields of Ordinary, came out this year.

Ever since a fellow bookstore worker gave me a proof copy of Boy Meets Boy, I just love his writing, I even quoted his descriptions of Infinite Darlene in a Simone De Bouvier essay at university about whether being a woman is learnt. I haven't kept track of any new releases he's put out but the last one I read/bought was Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist which I really enjoyed, I was a bit wary of Rachel Cohn's involvement at first but I really liked Gingerbread that I'd bought in NYC a few years ago and their style works well together. I think I want to see the film too.

sigh, gush gush gush. I shall look into Nick Burd!

Hehe, gush as much as you want, seriously XD I adore him. I want to BE him when I grow up. I own all of his books except for Wide Awake. He writes the kind of books I wanted to read as a teenager, books with gay characters that aren't really about being gay. I think my favorite is probably Boy Meets Boy or his recent-ish collection of short stories, How They Met, but there's this line in Realm of Possibility that really sealed the deal for me. I don't have the book in front of me, but it was something along the lines of, "My parents don't care that I'm gay, but they'd kill me if they knew I was smoking." That line is my life. I mean, word for word, that is me, that is my parents, that is my world, right there.

Anyway, Nick Burd's book was awesome. I was skeptical at first because I am pretty sick of reading coming out stories, but this was totally not your traditional coming out story. It had a nice style and flow and great characters. A really nice read.

Frankly, I am most interested to see how Sunday goes, if only to live vicariously. XD

This meme seems to indicate that if put in the same universe together, Teyla and Hermione could rule the world. I don't actually object to that at all.

I do not have entirely high hopes for Sunday. I appreciate the effort and concern on the part of my cousin, but I remain skeptical. We shall see!

Re: Teyla and Hermione: I feel that would be awesome. And the world would be really efficient and accepting and cool.

Your weekend sounds like it will be vastly more interesting than mine! I look forward to hearing how it all goes :)

Also, I would totally do this meme, but I feel like I'd have the same 7 pairings as everyone else. So suffice it to say: I agree. All the times that Josh & CJ have shown up on this list have made me hunt down The Crackpots and These Women just for that scene. *happy sigh*

I really need to get in the shower and get to bed, but I will say this, as only you will appreciate it:

I spent like, ten minutes trying to decide if I wanted to put Danny and Felicity or Alan and Felicity or Alan and Justine on the list before I realized they are my characters and that is not allowed. I am clearly way too wrapped up in my own head.

Alan and Justine! Ooh, but Felicity and Alan will be so precious when she's pregnant and he's (even more) neurotic. And Felicity is Danny's sanity. Hmm. Clearly you should do this meme for your own characters as it would make us both happy. *ahem* Right? I'm clearly way too wrapped up in your own characters as I want you to do this so I can read it! ♥
