Cupcakes: I got a text about red velvet cupcakes this weekend. And I did not go look at them because RED VELVET IS MY FAVORITE EVER and also I GAVE UP SWEETS/SUGAR/BAKED GOODS for Lent, so I was afraid if I looked at them it would be torture.

I almost texted you last night when I was trying to write, but I figured it was getting kind of late (that is a lie, I am an old lady who goes to bed at 10:30) and I didn't know how early you were going to bed for school, et cetera. So then I just went to sleep instead.

Anyway, that story was pointless. Having a real life sucks! I had much more time to stay up talking to people when I wasn't working full time.

I love cupcakes, but I make them from a mix. Are cupcakes from scratch, like, head and shoulders better, do you think? I'm intrigued, and coming up on spring break, which means I'll have baking time...

I wouldn't say that the cake of cupcakes is head and shoulders better from scratch. Um, did that make any sense? Mix cake isn't that much worse than from-scratch. Sometimes, depending on the recipe, it could even be better. The thing that absolutely, 100% HAS to be made from scratch is frosting. Oh my god. From-scratch frosting is like an entirely different substance than from-the-can frosting. Seriously.

I just saw a recipe for minty cupcakes and thought of you! I want to try them cause they look delicious. MAYBE I'LL BRING THEM WHEN I COME VISIT YOU! SOON! IN MAY!

And I also want to say that I'm still super-excited about the Amazon book thing. Because you getting a copy of that would be SO COOL. I wish I could verbally express how truly awesome I think this is. The boys! In print! FOREVER. There's something permanent about a book that the internet just doesn't have. I mean, I'm sure you have hard copies of your own. But as a book? That's just fantastic.

(And the wedding thing freaks me out. So far it's more friends-of-friends getting married, but I feel like it's coming. We can be bitter and angry together!)

I think it would be pretty cool! I mean, it's just a crappy first draft and not at all legitimately publishable, but it would be just super cool to have and for YOU to have (and I guess anyone else that wants it) :D
