So, on the drive from Montauk, I listened to the podfic of Written By The Victors.

oh man, I know; I had the same reaction while listening to it, myself. I cried for one set of reasons when I read the fic, and then I cried for a whole different, meta set of reasons when I listened to the fic. We just, we care so much, you know? We care about each other so much, and want to make things together so much. It makes my heart feel squished.

That's it, that's it exactly. The part that really got me, where I was really crying, was the whole epilogue. Because that's really where it officially turns from fic into... god, something entirely else. Because it's what comes AFTER, it's the legacy, it's people telling stories about Atlantis, something that all of us can relate to so intimately... and to hear all of fandom reading and overlapping and all the love... oh god, I'm so lucky I didn't drive off the bridge into the East River.

Sometimes I wish fandom existed down the street so we could all get together for a group hug once in awhile.

group hug, yes, exactly. maybe one day we'll form our own independent hippie fandom-community. or they'll put us all in a compound together, or something. :)

It's possible that I shed a tear the first time I heard the very beginning of that podfic, with all of us saying our names, and the music. the multi-voicedness of us!

Times like this I just want to give fandom a big wet kiss.

OH MAN IT WAS SO GOOD. I literally drove my car around town waaaaaaaaaaaay longer than I had to (and filled up my gas tank) because I wanted to listen to the last bit out-loud and not over headphones. ITS SO GOOD.

And yes, SGA fandom blows my mind. There's so much good and happiness to be found here when mosttimes the internets is just as unhappy as RL can be.
