DATE: Day 82, after the zombies are gone CHARACTER(S): Muraki/nagasakivampire and Riki/mongrelpet STATUS: Closed, in progress SUMMARY: Some people are best not met in person LOCATION: Media center
Riki had stayed locked up in his room the entire time the zombies had been attacking and it had driven him crazy. He didn't like the idea of having a roommate and just the fact that he shared his room bothered him even when the other guy was no where to be seen.
His cabin fever meant that as soon as he could he was exploring the ship. He found the media center pretty easily and was considering finding some kind of vid to watch (he wasn't a 'read a book' kind of guy) when he saw the silver hair.
Silver hair should cause anyone to freeze, but growing up on in Amoi's slums gave Riki even more cause to stop. He realized this had to be the guy that Katze had been speaking too on the message board. He let the girl he was talking to distract the doctor and tried to slip into the center without being bothered by him.
If the Council was generous, Riki and Katze could always ask to room together and spare the other from having to deal with whatever random roommate might come and go as time passed. Muraki had stopped counting the number of people that had come and go through the staff room with him.
He raised an eyebrow and smiled ever-so-politely when he spotted the person Katze seemed to know well from home. Muraki left the girl after another moment and followed him into the area. "Good evening. I'm sorry we didn't get to speak long when you arrived - Katze butted in for some reason."
Riki wouldn't have handled Katze as a roommate either. He had no desire to be around anyone for that long. He wanted to be left alone.
"Seems to think you're dangerous," Riki answered. His stance was tense, his hands shoved in his jacket and his shoulders tight. He was pretty sure that Katze was right about this man.
Muraki chuckled and, as he pushed his glasses up, eased away some of the hair covering his right eye to give Riki a glimpse at the artificial one that deliberately didn't match his real one. "I don't know why he thinks that. I've never done anything to hurt him."
A lie, given the fight that had dislocated Muraki's shoulder and broken Katze's jaw, but the words came out as easily as truth.
