OH GOD I AM SO SORRY. a WEEK LATER i'm done failing. :|bitchin_beanieMay 8 2009, 07:55:55 UTC
There wasn't much going on in the ship tonight. Jan found himself bored, listless, and vaguely lonely. Not that he'd ever admit that. No fucking way, Jan Valentine didn't get lonely. That was retarded. He just didn't have enough people around him right at the moment.
So may as well head back to the cabin, right? Maybe Clark was awake, maybe Jan could pester him. That might prove interesting. Maybe.
Jan pushed his way into the room and was immediately disappointed by the darkness of it. Not that he minded waking up a sleeping asshole though, that was fine. Just a little more work. But fast on the heels of disappointment came something closer to surprise.
That didn't smell like Clark. Or, it did, but it smelled a little different.
Like something a lot closer to his typical interests.
Jan crept a little closer, moving toward the bed with eyes wide in the darkness. He couldn't see if it looked like Clark around the blankets.
"Hey, fucker!" he tried, sounding more interested than obnoxious. "Bitch?"
The sound of Jan entering the room was enough to stir Clark, particularly because Jan wasn't all that quiet about it anyway. He sighed and rubbed his eyes, sitting up in the bed slowly and feeling for his glasses.
He frowned. Sitting up felt different. His body had a different... weight to it. Smaller. Even his hands felt smaller.
"What, Jan?" He said, but the voice that spoke clearly wasn't his own either. Something was very, very off here. He was almost afraid to turn on the light, because light would confirm whatever it was he was already suspecting.
This couldn't be a medication side effect, could it?
"You, uh..." Jan wasn't even sure what to ask his roommate. Just how did you address the suspicions Jan's senses gave him? That, and the fact that he didn't really want to show something like concern for Clark, that might give the wrong idea...
...Then again, sometimes sacrifices had to be made for the sake of curiosity.
"You okay?" he finished a second or two later, the words sounding foreign in his own voice.
Clark put his hands on his legs, feeling them; they were so much thinner than they had ever been, and the fingers he felt with them were small and thin and delicate. He swallowed, putting his glasses on his face, turning his head towards where Jan's voice was coming from.
"Yes..." He said slowly, not knowing himself. This was something he was wary about trying to get to the bottom to with Jan there. Very wary. Their relationship was just so that Clark felt awkward even thinking about that situation.
That voice? Definitely different. Definitely leaning way fucking closer to what those suspicions suggested. Jan should be weirded out, but instead a grin began to creep over his face. He moved right to the edge of the bed, definitely interested in what the reemerging night vision was picking out.
He didn't know how and he didn't know when, but he definitely liked it.
Both hands shot out at about that point, aiming for Clark's chest. Just to be sure. Juuuussst to check. Surely Clark could hardly fault him for that, could he?
