DATE: Day 57 CHARACTER(S): Hisoka/thosecoldeyes, Katze/kit_katze STATUS: Complete SUMMARY: Hisoka has questions, Katze has an unusual place to answer them. LOCATION: Level Four Hallway (and elsewhere)
Katze had a mission. It involved cheese crackers and juice. He was trying to obtain these things before he went to Yuuta's room. Then he planned to sit the boy safely out of harm's way and let him have a snack while Katze build a fort. A fort that wouldn't fall down and injure him.
He had a lot to think about and was relieved to simply spend time with Yuuta who had no expectations of him. It was easy to be kind to the pink-haired boy and Katze found that he definitely needed someone to be kind to lately.
The redhead was walking down the hallway, intent on seeking out the juice and crackers when he noticed someone else. Smaller. Green eyes. And the one who apparently knew a bit about Muraki.
He looked like a Pet. Delicate, pretty, easy to break. Katze just didn't know if he had the spirit of a Pet. He nodded politely, intending to go around.
If he had any doubts at all about his course of action in the time that he could back down, they were gone when their eyes met. He was capable; he would handle this. As Katze nodded to him, Hisoka stepped instead to block his path. Anyone associated with Muraki near someone like Yuuta troubled him. If he had learned one thing in his life, people were not often really as genuine as they made themselves out to be.
He really had no choice but to know that all too well.
"I want to talk to you," the blond said, words measured and quiet, "about Muraki."
Katze stared at him. Amber eyes darkened a bit and he looked Hisoka over. He didn't seem to have any weapons. There were no large and imposing men lurking around the corner. Katze gave a sharp nod.
And then his arm was around Hisoka, hand on the small of his back. Katze was quick and, thankfully, bigger. As the blond tried to pull back, Katze simply slid a leg between his thighs, throwing him off balance so he could use the other arm to control where he went. He was dragging him toward the closest door...which just happened to be the showers.
Katze bathed quickly and when no one was present. However it seemed the showers were rarely a popular meeting spot. But they were also the only place that didn't have cameras. He didn't think he wanted this meeting recorded.
Once they were inside he released Hisoka, carefully if not gently, and leaned against a wall where he could observe anyone entering or leaving. "Talk," He answered, somber but not looking threatened.
It was amazing how quickly that went to being a situation absolutely out of his control. He should have seen it coming, didn't see it coming, and Katze was physically stronger than himself. Even when he struggled, he couldn't get free, and he wasn't really sure at all what was more overwhelming.
His own instinctive fear, or the keen and unwilling insight into the man dragging him. Distaste, disgust, handling him was like--then relief, and Hisoka was very aware of the fact no one would see them here. To hell with not revealing that he was a shinigami, he had no choice but to--
Be let go.
There was, quite suddenly, a great deal of distance between the two as he was released. The teenager had moved with a little more haste than dignity, his eyes just a little too wide as he stared at the man.
"What are you two doing?" he snapped, and some part of him was aware the far more rational way he'd planned this was thrown out the window by his own weakness.
"Things," Katze replied back. He didn't like his business being examined too closely. Possibly because he'd never been in a business that was to the letter of the law. That was his fatal weakness; Katze could never leave well enough alone. He had to push it. He had to see how good he was and how good they were by comparison.
He'd scared Hisoka. He was a bit pleased at that and a bit guilty. But he hadn't meant any harm and he'd been as careful as he could be. But he could at least be honest. "I have little idea what he's up to. Well I do but..." He shrugged. "Suffice to say you're a lot less scary to me than he is."
Katze wasn't about to cave and admit the role he'd played in it. Except that it was inconsequential. "I did some work for him. That's all I wanted to know."

There was no reason to not act directly.
