The lure of tea - decent tea - was strong. Even stronger was Integra's curiosity. Just what sort of person was able to deal with the sheer force that is Alucard. In ten years, the woman had hardly seen him so much as acknowledge anyone outside of Hellsing. Back in her London, there had never been time to wonder such idle things. Never had the questioning about Alucard's life come to the forefront of Integra's mind. Now, she found herself wondering. What was he like a hundred years ago when he came to England? What as was he like five hundred years ago when he was a prince and warlord? Could it be they were more similar than Integra had allowed herself to believe for all these years ( ... )

Palpatine still hadn't grown accustomed to the fact that his name alone wouldn't command respect here ; or, rather, his double's...which he just happened to share. It was a lesson Alucard seemed determined to make him learn, though. Perhaps 'determined' was too strong a word... 'casually determined'? Alucard had certainly earned his respect ( ... )

Palpatine was going to offer her the bed, but she seemed willing enough to sit on that horrid chair. She would have an easier time with her tea there, at any rate. He nudged the cart up next to her, still close to the bed (actually blocking her path to the door), and gingerly climbed over the bed to sit opposite her.

"I tried to get a room to myself when I arrived," he said with a smile. "My request was denied. But no matter -- I rather like having Alucard around now." When he's not locking me out of the room for petty reasons, he added silently.

Palpatine lifted the teapot and nodded towards the cup closest to his guest. "May I? Or would you prefer to fix it yourself? I'm... afraid entertaining is a bit foreign to me on this ship. Back home I would have had droids to take care of such details."

Sitting on the bed was a little too personal in Integra's mind. It's alright for one to sit where they sleep, but not someone else. It made sense to her. She took note of being barred from the door by the cart, though it wasn't a worry. Carts are easy to move should the necessity arise. A doubtful scenario ( ... )
