US 'Life on Mars' to be axed

BUMMER news. This is one show that I really like this season (although as I watch the original BBC series, I find it FAR superior to the ABC one). So where I thought we'd get a lot of storylines to explain Sam Tyler's mysterious appearance in 1973, we'll be getting nothing more at the end of the season.

No, I'm glad you gave your thoughts! As I watch the UK series, I just like it SO MUCH more. I think it does have to do with how Gene and Sam are portrayed and I think they come off as a better team in the UK version than the US. I agree what you mean about the size too...you don't get the idea that the US Sam is a weaker person than Gene.

I just love John Simm and Philip Glenister together. I LOVE the Gene character in the UK version, I just don't feel that same kind of affection/charisma coming from Harvey Keitel. Plus I think that since he's older, the dynamic doesn't work between him and Jason O'Mara as it does between Simm and Glenister.

Have I mentioned how much I like the two of them together?? :)

I think the US really needs to get the UK LoM dvds available here. Seriously. Esp. now that the US version is axed.
