BUMMER news. This is one show that I really like this season (although as I watch the original BBC series, I find it FAR superior to the ABC one). So where I thought we'd get a lot of storylines to explain Sam Tyler's mysterious appearance in 1973, we'll be getting nothing more at the end of the season.
Right.
In a way, I'm glad because they'll be around the same number of UK episodes (16 for BBC, 17 for ABC) so at least avid fans can get to the bottom of the mystery quicker (unless they've watched the original and know what happens). And while the eps have been pretty good for the most part, sometimes they get a little...I dunno. You can see they've stretched it a bit thin in anticipation for future seasons. You don't get that in the BBC version.
I'm also sad at the same time 'cos this is one show that I really have enjoyed, very much. Of course now I'm drawing huge comparisons between this and the original (have I mentioned how much I love that show?) but still, I thought I'd still have Life on Mars to watch after I finished the BBC one.
I'm adding Tyler and Gene Hunt to my list of best friend/duo pairings. I freaking love Philip Glenister and John Simm is just too awesome for words. And I cannot wait to watch the ep of Spaced where he guest stars!!!
OK really time for bed now. Got to work on my challenge fic before the deadline...oh boy.
