Election 2008

Nov 04, 2008 13:49

For the first time in my life, I voted.

I  went in early because I worried about long lines. Didn't have to worry too much...line wasn't too bad. I went into the booth thing, voted, and went home.

Not NEARLY as exciting as I thought it would be, being my first time voting and all.

But still, it was kind of cool. Now we just have to wait.

politics, election

I know, it's kind of anticlimactic, isn't it? I always want, after I've slid my ballot into the big box thing, to jump up on top of it, fists pumping in the air, making raucous pelvic motions, and shout, "In your FACE, democracy!! In your FACE!! Today, you're mah bitch!!"

But I don't. Maybe when I'm on the ballot for President... lol.

Today I just smiled at the little old lady manning the machine, and walked quietly out into a glorious Autumn day. It's still anticlimactic, even though this is my - erm - well, *not* first election. :}

Yeah i really expected some sort of flourish after i pressed that "Vote" button. so THIS is what democracy is all about! haha.

ah glad it was a glorious Autumn day for you. here it wasn't too bad, though grey. i did feel good despite the anticlimax.

Oh wow... first ever time! Congrats on taking the initiative! I need to somehow figure out if voting will be worth my time. I've never done it here and I guess it doesnt really make a difference. No matter who wins, it's all down the drain!

So obamer looks like?
