It's been a busy couple of weeks. Amazingly, the weather is beautiful today and when I was rushing to the train, I had to pause and revel in this strange warmth of early November. I guess it really is going to be a warm winter. Hehe.
As I understand it, Wickmayer didn't miss any actual tests. Her offense is that she failed to inform WADA of her whereabouts on three separate occasions, and for that, she gets suspended for a year. The punishment is so disproportionate to the offense that I think Wickmayer should appeal, because I can't help but think her rights are being violated here. No hearing, no chance to tell her side of the story, not even a chance to make a case for intrusion into her privacy.
You know what? This would make an absolutely KILLER law review article. I'd totally co-write it with you too. I think there are real issues of US and international privacy rights here, and someone needs to make a (at least academic) stink about it.
