Monday morning quarterback?

Maybe I should say 'back a quarter', or a half, or three-fourths. I never thought I'd find myself gripped by CNBC and stock market news while brushing my teeth, but that's a perk of living on the west coast I guess. Heh. So now that Lehman Brothers has officially filed for bankruptcy, Merril Lynch has been bought out by Bank of America, and AIG ( Read more... )

rant, politics, stock market

Word.

But also...I need for some Americans to stand up and take responsibility for their own actions, too. People need to admit that they made some bad, greedy, bad, clueless, bad decisions. What were people thinking when they took out interest only, ADJUSTABLE loans, that they had no hope of making payments on in 1 to 5 years? Did they think they could flip the house? Did they think they'd suddenly have jobs that paid three times as much? I know because it is such a colossal problem that we need government bail-out. But Geeeeeez. We need to end this credit-card culture.

At the time they assumed the economy was good...remember Bush & Co. kept telling them how great it was...

I will assign very little blame for someone buying a home and trying to improve their station in life.

I could find myself in the same situation, should we ever buy a house. No, we won't have an adjustable mortgage, but what if the economy completely crashes, which it is likely to do, and we lose everything? That could hardly be my fault...

When this housing boom was starting, and everyone and their brother were demanding that Ben and I buy something, anything, while we had the chance and before prices climbed higher, I knew what our budget was. And I could predict what it would be in a year. I knew that an interest only loan meant that I would only be making payments on the interest until the "real" loan kicked in, and then we would be hosed ( ... )

Tina was brilliant. But, the fucktard Refucklicans on MSN are all like "GO PALIN!" and thinking this will help her, and hating on Tina Fey.

I'm sorry, but I've got intense hatred for Conservatives right now. You've all had your chance for eight years and you completely fucked up this country. Furthermore, I'm appalled to be living in a country where, should the election be held today, McSame and Palin would win. This country will deserve what we get should those two nutters win the Whitehouse.

*Completely ignoring the politcal discussion, because I have no room in my brain for it right now*

That SNL Sketch made me laugh so hard. I think I'll stick to getting my politics through a sarcasm filter like Jon Stewart and SNL. It makes me a little less cranky.

Awesome Saturday Night Live!!

Best moments -
'Hilary' talking about 'wanting it more'... and ripping off a hunk of wood from the podium

'Palin' miming cocking a rifle while 'Hilary' fumes... and,

"I invite the media to grow a pair... and if you can't, I will lend you mine."

awesome. just awesome.
