You should throw your own party. And then invite them at the last minute as an obvious after-thought.

Or invite yourself to one of their parties. If they're having it in your flat you get a default invite. And then all you have to do is be your charming self and they'll be begging you to start the next one. 'Cause even braincell-less eejits occasionally need help getting the party started.

As to your first idea - I would, but they've all gone home for Christmas already, but in any case I've spent the past two days in the company of people who like me instead of the morons I live with!

I would again invite myself to one of their parties, and I have sort-of been to a few, but I always just feel awkward - to be honest I would probably have felt out-of-place at the Christmas dinner party that they had, it just would have been nice to have been asked. *shrugs*

P.S. Russell squees at your icon! - Everyone needs a James-suprise!buttsexmas. ;-) x.

*huggles the you* My flatmates in the first year were pretty similar D: we didn't really get on and they were constantly going out clubbing, coming back drunk and bringing back random guys to the flat - I'd always go practically nocturnal in the hopes of being able to go to the kitchen to cook without bumping into random strangers but even at like 4am, this didn't work, so most of the time I'd hole myself in my room XD;

But I remember very close to me moving out of there, I was locked in my room freaking out about something or another during the early evening and all I could hear was the five of them in the kitchen having a Christmas party, giving each other presents and really loudly being all OMG YOU GOT ME A PRESENT THANK YOU OMG!1!1!!! and it was like... fuck you guys, fuck you all >And then they posted anonymous death threats to my Livejournal (IP tracing FTW, though it only told us that the comments had come from within my uni building, couldn't find out what room, so I never did find out which of them it was...) and I moved at ( ... )

Awwwwwwwwww, Tabs! It sounds like your flatmates were a lot worse than mine are, I think I'm sorted for next year already though (I think niblick_iii, bethan_b_bad and I are getting a house together!) so I've got that to look forward to and to comfort me in the long days/nights of annoyance!

I've gone nocturnal myself (as you can probably tell by the way I'm typing this at 1.54 in the am) to do exactly the same thing, and I have the same problem - even at 4am there's always one of them in the kitchen, why is that do you think?

Definitely - slashy!hermit party! (It'd have to be a LAN party, because none of the hermits could leave their rooms for long enough to get to a slashy!hermit party. Unless of course the offer of MtW marathons and nibbles stands - MtW and nibbles will intice any slash!hermit out of hiding!)

♥ xxx ♥

have my favourite icon as a token of my appreciation of you. x.

Stupid housemates. :( I don't have much else to say that won't end up in a HUGE rant, but you know you have lots of cooler friends outside of your flat. :) *HUUUUGS* ♥ x

Oh, I know how that is.
Problem is, there ain't much to be done but do your best and carry on. Find better things to do, find nice people to live with next year and perhaps invest in earplugs. Lord knows I wanted to in my first year. Corridor of sixteen people, no less. All of whom enjoyed going out drinking and coming back at two in the morning a hell of a lot more than I ever did or ever will.
And don't worry. You'll be able to remember the fun you had at uni. And your liver will be in a much better state.
Drunk people are no fun. In fact, drunk people suck big time. Maybe someday they'll realise that but until then the sober ones of us have to suffer. Shame, but people are selfish.
*sends hug again*

Unfortunately true - I will have to put up with it, but so long as I have people like you (and everyone else who's been really nice to me over the past couple of weeks!) to turn to I'm sure I'll be fine. I do actually have some earplugs. Somewhere.

Sixteen people - Ouch! I have corridor of eight (inc. me) but the flats above, below and across can (and do) get into our flat using their keys. This is the main reason that a fair amount of my food has gone from the freezer, but I will have my revenge on Adam from downstairs (I know it was him - the others would come into the kitchen, but only Adam would be cheeky/annoying/stupid enough to steal from me.) some time in the new year.

I will indeed - for example - I remember Halloween (there are pictures, but I remember it too) and I remember going to the pictures a lot, and I remember hanging out with everyone for the past two weeks. x.

*hugs you back*

*sends you yellow!happiness icon because you made me smile*

See the pretty Cedric! He smiles at you.
I saw a book in Waterstones yesterday called I Lick My Cheese which I think was about flat-sharing.

It is. I don't know if I want it or not.

I've got my brother (who doesn't use lj, and is therefore in no danger of finding this!) a book that I want! It's called 'how to worry friends and inconvenience people'.

It's made of win.

Hufflepoof icon is love btw! I met Bobberty. He was nice to us despite his hangover.

I'm off home tomorrow (well, ok, today actually, but... *shrugs*) to see my Daddy - I miss him, and then off to my Mum's for Christmas. It's gonna be hectic. Hope you're having fun at home and have a lovely Christmas - Nadolig Llawen!
