I'm watching Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal and this mother is pissing me off SO BAD. She's (SURPRISE, FUCKING SURPRISE) a Christian, and she doesn't believe in the spirits that her daughter is claiming to see, because SHE believes that there are only angels and demons, and that demons can imitate the dead to deceive people. And she is ( Read more... )

Hey there. ♥

I was raised Christian (which kind, I haven't the faintest idea), but I find no offense in what you've said/believe. Honestly, that woman needs to pull her head out of her ass and realize that there's more than Christianity in the world, the world itself is not just black and white, and just because you don't personally believe in something does not mean it isn't real. I sympathize with the girl when it comes to her spiritual ideology, and that ideology is just that, hers. Her mother can't force her to believe in anything different than what she does.

And a part of me wishes I could say "but all Christians aren't like that," but... If I did, I'd be asking people to believe something even I think is a lie. And I do know there are some who are open, people from any or no religion who are accepting, but there are so many who are closed off to what they can't see, don't want to see or understand. It would feel pointless to try to defend them.

And one more thing? A book review blog sounds like a fantastic idea. :)

THIS. THANK YOU. My family and I have personally been treated like crap and screwed over by people who have always claimed to be "good Christians", and it just boggles my mind that they continue thinking they're good and Living In The Word/all that jazz after the things they say and do. Blah!

Haha I'm thinking of doing it. I just finished three books, and I'm reading one now (might start another because I can't seem to focus on one at a time) so it'll give me something productive to do, lol. :D

I have an aunt who's one of those ignorant Christians who spends her life sitting on a cloud and trying to convert everyone to what she believes in. It's irritating.

I'll be sure to check out Person L. Do they sound anything like The Starting Line?

It's SO irritating, agree agreeee.

Well ... I mean, you can definitely recognize that it's Kenny singing, but other than that, not really. Though, I didn't check out anything more than the single for their last album. Person L has a ... I'm not sure how to describe it ... almost like a psychedelic sound, real ambiance for when you're feeling ~cool, but at the same time they have a very rock sound?

THEY ARE RIDICULOUSLY HARD TO DESCRIBE. I never would have liked them if I didn't see them, though, because I think I would have assumed they were TSL version 2.
