Here we are - 27th July. It was raining this morning, but still there's a heat wave so the rain is good - umbrellas and coats are back. A foreign couple is waiting for the train with a buggy by me, who were debating about something and they decided to go back to the station information desk.
On board the train the three bag stooges are back by the doors. Two typical SE London men have just got on saying that now it is going to continue to piss down… It isn’t pissing down now so why do you think it would continue to do so?!?! The train is pretty quiet today. An Olympic person is also on board, complete with his gigantic security pass.
Over the last few warm days, I have seen cyclists in the most ridiculous choices of clothing. Flip flips, mini-skirts and low cut tops to name but a few. I even saw a guy who was topless riding through the local high street without a care in the world. When he gets knocked off for being careless, he is going to be skinned alive.
Back to the train - it's still says to get off at Charlton for the O2 arena on the displays - except for the next two weeks it is called the "North Greenwich Arena" and so people will be most confused when searching for the gymnastics if they are travelling Southeastern. The idiot sat next to me has got his iPhone out to play a game except he has no headphones plugged in and so the sound is playing out-loud. This combined with his incessant chewing makes him a prime candidate for being hit by a cyclist, when he gets off.
On my way to Leicester Square Undergound I saw an Olympic car with the South Korean flag on it; I hoped they had managed to put the right flag on it this time. Talking about Olympics I feel for the poor people trying to get home from Oxford Street yesterday night, where it was at rush hour. Forward planning really isn’t forte is it? Also Southeastern were handing out Olympic timetables Yesterday EVENING as well - talk about leaving it to the last minute.
Well I am going to leave you all, with this question:
Just what will Danny Boyle do for Olympics opening ceremony? - Source:
Evening Standard Mr Boyle’s opening ceremony will set the tone for the Games, but even the day before it kicks off, it’s still a big secret. though there have been leaks i.e. some say there'll be sheep (or a farm type collection). A cricket game, Industrial revolution. Paul McCartney and possibly James Bond. Locog confirms that all of the tickets for the opening ceremony are now sold out - even the eye wateringly expensive ones at £2,012.
Away from the Olympic Park, Paolo Nutini, Duran Duran, Stereophonics and Snow Patrol are to play in the Opening Ceremony Celebration Concert in Hyde Park.
