Such fun! It reads as though you enjoyed the language of fairy tales as well as the telling of the story itself, and it has that mythic feel, undercut by properly Buffyish elements such as suborning the three-headed dog (what will the neighbours think?) and occasional leaking of modern dialogue.

Charming, and I loved all the literary allusions: "The Hobbit," "Oedipus," "Hansel and Gretel," and right at the end, "The Wizard of Oz," with the death of the Queen and the celebration or her not so sorrowful followers. Fun!
