Attack of the Swamp Thing
Who: Handy, Grissom, and Eliot
When: About forty-five minutes after Eliot chased Handy out of the garage.
Where: Third floor hallway, initially

The situation was even more dire than Handy had thought. Not only was the Master on the loose, not only did the walls themselves seem to be spying on him and laughing at him wherever he went, not only had he been attacked by a great black creature from the abyss that had psychically exploded his weapon in his hand, but now even the water in the pool had come alive and sided with the Sea Devils that had tried to drown him when he emerged from the locker room after tending to his hand.
He couldn't go back to the garage and its workshop when he knew they'd be waiting for him there, ready to snatch him up and take him to the Master - or perhaps to just kill him and get him out of the way of whatever nefarious plot was afoot. He still needed something with which he could fight back, though - some sort of stasis generator, maybe. Something to keep them all at bay until he could find out exactly what was happening. So far as materials went, that left the attic. He couldn't trust the lift, though, not after the things other parts of the hotel had done today. So instead, he slogged his way up the stairs, still dripping chlorinated water from his sodden clothes.
Unfortunately, he forgot around the second floor where he was going or why, and meandered off his path and onto the third floor instead.
