entry fifteen - taking a grudge and throwing a personal opinion at it.

Some of the behaviour on board this boat dismays me.

Judas, who is this man who everyone seems to be denegrating your belief in? I've never heard of him and don't quite understand the fuss. I do know, however, that nobody in my city would mess with another man's belief. Of course, that's probably due to the high liklihood that atheism was a very ( Read more... )

I find myself agreeing. Weapon use without proper training is extremely dangerous; you make a fair point here, Mister-?

Even with proper training, if people cannot keep track of their weapons and allow them to get into the wrong hands, it is just as dangerous.

And it's Captain. Captain Swing.

Proper training should cover the handling of one's weapon. I understand the necessity most humans feel for having weapons, but it is not something I am always comfortable with.

I understand the necessity in circumstances other than these; in emergencies, when a police force literally has no other option, but I do not find those circumstances to be part of day to day existence here. Tell me, if you are unarmed and a warden, do you find any difficulty in enforcing your authority on your inmate? Or at least, any difficulty which would be helped by carrying a weapon?

Pleasure to meet you, Commander.

That's hardly fair. What's with all the quasi-religious rubbish that comes with it, though?

Because he claimed to be the Son of God. Which I don't necessarily believe and it eventually got him killed, but he was a good friend to me nonetheless.

What, a God? I didn't realise they were into that kind of... Anyway. It's still not fair to do that to someone.

Do I sense discontent?

Reply

pleasesmirk November 10 2009, 18:06:34 UTC
Discontent is a rather strong word for it. I just am seriously concerned about the behaviour of some wardens.

Whatever could cause you concern?

Could it be the public drunkenness? The blatant disregard for the safety and rights of inmates? The employ of mentally disturbed vampiric inmates in the infirmary?

Or is it just the weaponry?

I see no cause for concern.

You know, I don't see the problem with any of those either. This sort of thing is generally accepted all over the place.

Mainly, though, it's the weapons. Especially how some of them are far less responsible than some of the people they're keeping imprisoned would be with weapons.

Sirrus, he insulted me. He didn't even consider what I had to say. I have every right to be angry.

Then be angry, my friend. But do not overreact, like I said. If you go after him in any way, you're going to blow our little plan.

Re: Private pleasesmirk November 10 2009, 22:47:55 UTC
I am not overreacting. I do not intend to go after him in the ways I would consider legitimate. Nor the ways anyone would expect.

I fully intend to do this sensibly and properly and without having to even see the man. It's plainly obvious how badly he treats inmates who have not even done anything wrong. All I even intend to do is make this hypocrisy and ridiculous behaviour obvious to the other wardens.
