I love this.

This we all had a hand in this. is so painfully true, and the metaphor of "hand" is all the more ironic and painful.

So, of course, Hodgins hurts HIS hand, too.

Very painful episode, very poignant fic.

Wow, that was quite awesome. :D

(Just thought I'd point out you wrote vaguely as vaugely. Also, I believe it's camaraderie or comradery, yet you spelled it comraderie. Hope you don't mind my inner beta coming out. ;))

This was fab. Loved hearing Hodgins POV. I have a feeling it's going to effect him most of all. Thanks for sharing :)

Well, ouch.

The blow he never felt at the hospital arrives the next night. Hodgins is brushing his teeth and just stops because it hits him, right there, in the gut, that he's never going to do another experiment with him, never going to drive him to work, never going to play king of the lab with him, never going to stop by and invite him to watch the game in the main house, never going to ruffle his hair affectionately because fuck, he loved him. So very much. He was family.

Oh, Hodgins. Oh, Zack. What a tragic, fucked up, but so very loving family they all are. Were.

DDD:

"But still... at the Jeffersonian, we never had lunch with him that much once we started dating. It's the little things that matter, you know?"

Hodgins knows this very well. The urge to punch a wall returns, so he kisses away her tears instead. This is all so very true, and all the more painful for it ( ... )
