Not a big blue fire truck, alas, it's a little doohicky from Verizon which apparently I can take with me to Rwanda and still check my LJ.  My modem gave out yesterday (again) and they were having a promotion so thought I'd give this a try - so far so good, seems quite zippy.

Got the verdict on Monday, my little frogmobile is indeed totaled :(  So ( Read more... )

Rough week has been rough, but once all the hassley stuff is done with, I think everything's going to turn out pretty ok ^^

Aww, I'm sorry it's a total! I hope you're able to get a replacement quickly (and one you like!)

Wow, I can't believe someone KNOCKED ON YOUR DOOR. WTF?!! It's a little dangerous to do that here in CO, with the Make My Day Law and all ^_^ (Ambulance Chasers, get off my porch!!! **BOOM**) Ok, really just joking, but how obnoxious for some guy to start knocking, unsolicited!

Don't let them talk you into signing anything, especially when it comes to your health! A friend of mine, her husband was in an accident (not his fault) and the insurance co tried to give him a flat $2000 and sign a waiver that he wasn't allowed to sue or ask for any more $$. Scumbags, they're everywhere!

I think I've got a good candidate for a replacement - I'll do the final rigamarole tomorrow ^^

We get solicitors around here every now and then, but this guy knew my name and everything O_O He wasn't pushy or obnoxious at all, but still, erk.

I won't, don't worry ^^ I don't have any sort of lingering pain of any sort, just the occasional woozy and ear ringing, and it seemed better today (I suspect it will improve a lot faster once I'm not totally stressed out by the car shopping), so I really think I'll be fine with a bit of time, but definitely waiting until I'm completely sure before I sign anything. Trust no one! *plays X-files music*

Awh, your poor RAV =C Sorry about that hun! *hugs* And wishing you every bit of luck with the impending car shopping >.< Urk, car salesmen can be the absolute worst. Hopefully you'll find something good though :p

Glad you're going to the doctor anyway - always better safe than sorry! And wow. That is one seriously low trick by the insurance agency O_O Damn. Good thing you caught them out though! Fish-o-meter is accurate as ever *nodnod*

Thanks <3 *hugs back* I think I'm pretty much done with the shopping part, next is the paying for and title and licensing (happily with a very not!obnoxious car salesman) and then figuring out how to get the car home and the rental car back to the rental place. And then I'm sittin' pretty! :D

I usually avoid going to the doctor unless I'm seriously on my last gasp, lol, but especially with insurance involved I definitely want to check out any problems. Actually, the insurance company claims they never called me, so it was someone else pretending to be with them, sneaky sneaking people. Thank goodness for fish-o-meters!

Sorry to hear about your accident - and yup, that poor car looks totally totalled! Seriously, I hope you feel better soon and that the after effects fade away without any more problems - it's a good thing you're getting in checked out.

That must have been a seriously scary and stressful experience, and a stressful nuisance to deal with all the paperwork, admin and replacements now. Good luck with the car hunting! Yes, internet shopping is a great thing. Hopefully you'll find the perfect one for you in no time.

Thank you ^^ And I am feeling a bit better today, despite driving all over the planet looking for just the right car. Hopefully once all the stress of car shopping is over I'll get in a bit of rest and recovery, and by the time I get to the doctor I'll be absolutely fine :P

Probably my least favorite thing to do - calling and talking on the phone to various agencies and salespeople and the like. Even with internet assistance, I've used more cell phone minutes in the last week than I normally use all year! Thankfully I think I've found a good car, not perfect (it's tan, not green), but pretty darn close and the price was right - finalizing everything tomorrow. I'm kinda looking forward to it, actually :)
