  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
I know everyone says auror, but I’m going to have to say it. The job is dangerous and unpredictable, but I’d want to do it. Helping hunt down dark wizards doesn’t sound much of an adventure to me like some people would say, but rather I would want to know I was doing good and protecting people from someone that could possibly harm them.

  • If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
I’d probably want to be the librarian. All that knowledge around you and knowing that you hold the keys to all of it would be a nice feeling. I like organizing books too, so I don’t think I would mind the work.

  • This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age.
Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not?
No. It’s not that the Tournament would be too glorifying for me, but there are other ways to show what talent you have, like playing in a piano recital or balancing books on your head. Plus I’d rather fail at doing something than almost drowning because Grindylows are trying to stop me from saving my friends or a dragon turning me into a hot dog.

  • If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why?
An Arabian Oryx. They’re a unique looking animal, and have unique coloring. A lot of researchers think they could possibly have a lower water requirement than a camel because they can go up to months without water.
I would want to have this animal as an animagus form purely because if I was in a hard situation I could survive with little resources. They can also handle rocky terrain and live in hot climates, which could be useful for making those at night escapes from a teacher who’s looking for you.

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why?
Ron. He has somewhat of a temper and loses it when people tease him, and I’ve had that problem all my life; if someone says something wrong about me, I get riled up.
Plus having all the siblings; I never had a bunch of brothers or sisters, but I do have a lot of cousins I used to hang around a lot when I was younger, always wanting to fit in because I had nobody else to play with. But they were always there for me, getting me out of situations (or getting me into them). I’m also very loyal and protective when it comes to my friends, and I usually stick by them even when they make crazy decisions or doing this that they probably shouldn’t be doing.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
I would see everything that I want to be physically. I don’t desire a lot of things that are just for pleasure like money/wealth, so I think I’d see what I would want to look like; skinny, long hair; pretty much the idealistic girl that a boyfriend wants.

  • If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
Give most of it to the Make Poverty History organization, but I’d want to keep some of it to buy myself a horse, and get my grandma a new house because she needs one badly.

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
I used to always want to be a Marine Biologist when I got older and find new sea life and study it, but there was one point in my life where I just thought “You know I’ve changed my mind. Now that I think about it, I don’t really want to do that anymore” And plus, everyone in my class wanted to be a Marine Biologist, so the interest just kind of lost me.
I want to hopefully be an American History teacher someday, because I love history and I like teaching people about things they don’t know. I get along great with younger kids and I actually like it when people ask me lots of questions about things. Plus, I’m in love with the history that’s in the Civil War and everything during that time period.

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
I would invent a spell that makes you able to see if someone has a weapon on them that could hurt somebody, like a knife or a gun of some sort. The spell itself would be called
Aperio, which in Latin means “to uncover, lay bare, make clear.” I don’t really remember if this is a spell in Harry Potter, so I apologize if this has already been used.

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
The boggart would turn into the Grim Reaper. Not because he’s scary, because I don’t find him scary, but because he represents death. I’m not afraid of dying, but rather I’m afraid of people I love dying.
When I would say Riddikulus, the Grim Reaper would turn into one of those birds off of Alice in Wonderland that look like glasses. Every time I watch that movie, they bring a smile to my face and I laugh at them.

  • What do you look for in a friend?
Someone who is willing to put up with mood swings, silliness, and open-minded ness. Someone who will go on long walks with me and talk to me about nothing and random things, while eating ice cream cones and throwing bread crumbs at pigeons. They have to be there for me when I need them the most, listen to me when I want to talk, and not blow me off or be a backstabber.

  • What trait most annoys you about other people?
When they don’t listen to what you have to say, and bash your opinion on something. I have an ex-friend that always had to see things her way and never accepted someone else’s opinion. Being her friend, this was really hard. In friendships you and the other person are always going to have your own based opinions on something, or comments. She wasn’t like that. Every time I made my own comments on something, she had to say it was wrong and that I was stupid for thinking it. It bugged me, and one day I lost it and just yelled at her. We haven’t talked since.

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
    1. Patience- No matter what happens that takes a painstakingly long time, I have patience. I have the ability to entertain myself until what I want to do is open. When people argue with me, I have the patience to actually listen to what they’re saying before retorting back.
    2. Open-mindedness- I don’t like it when people have “a certain point of view” on subjects, so when talking to those kind of people, I’m always open-minded, listening to their side and seeing where they’re coming from. I’m pretty much a free person and I’m willing to accept different ideas even if they tend to be a little odd.
    3. Being a Pianist. I would have to say this goes under one of my abilities. I’m a natural Mozart, not to brag or offend anyone, but I have a strange ability to be able to sit down at my piano and play a piece without having to practice it over and over again to get it right. I take piano seriously, because I enjoy music.
    4. I can read. I know a lot of people can read, but I take reading seriously, I love books, especially classics like Huckleberry Finn and Oliver Twist. I like reading to other people, like my friends when I’m on the phone with them. My vocabulary is ever extending just like the universe. But the ability to be able to pronounce words that are long and difficult is exciting to me.
    5. Friendly- I have anger issues, yes, but I keep most of those to myself. I always like meeting new people, but it’s really more about learning who they are than rather me talking about myself because a lot of the time I get more interested in other people’s stories of life.

  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
    1. I tend to get jealous over little things when I shouldn’t.
    2. I ramble on about almost everything. Honestly, I SHOULD know by now it annoys people, but I just keep forgetting to tell myself not to do it.
    3. Stubbornness- I’m stubborn most of the time and hard headed, much like a horse that doesn’t want to move, and it gets me into trouble a lot with my parents and teachers when I want to do things my own way.
    4. My temper gets the best of me most of the time. When people insult me or someone I know, I have the tendency to get overly angry and blow a fit. I have lots of pent up anger too, which isn’t healthy.
    5. Procrastination is a big quality that I hate, but it seems like I can’t motivate myself to do things that I should like my homework or projects, or even cleaning my room. It takes me days, even weeks to get something done.
  • Define in your own words the following key traits:
    • Courage: The ability to do and say things that people don’t usually say or do to fight for what you believe in, even when it means getting into trouble or being insulted because of what you think.
    • Loyalty: Sticking by a person no matter what, even if they aren’t your friend, because they are willing to do things for a good cause.
    • Intelligence: Not only the knowing of facts and trivia, but also the wisdom that you hold in yourself to make the decision in your life that could affect your future.
    • Ambition:

  • Name: Jessica
  • Age: 14
