And the Sorting Hat was slightly starchy and smelled of sweat

  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
I’d probably want to be a quidditch chaser. All the other desk jobs just don’t appeal to me and quidditch would be just like playing sports and it would be something I’d actually enjoy doing and get a kick out of at the same time. Why chaser? Because if I were Seeker, I’d get sidetracked since I’m not actually in the fray and I’d feel that everything depended on my catching the snitch. Not beater because I don’t want to be whacking around balls at people and not keeper because I’d rather be flying around and doing the speed work.

  • If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
I wouldn’t really want to teach because I don’t like the idea of having to go through the painstaking process of drilling information into the minds of students that won’t understand it until after the 10th time I’ve explained it….but with that aside, I’d probably choose a subject that doesn’t require reading and grading 13 inch long papers, like Quidditch. I’m personally fascinated by the sport and by teaching it, I’d be able to fly at the same time so I’d get something out of it other than watching little 1st years fall off their brooms.

  • This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not?
Probably not. It’s like why I wouldn’t sign up for the Olympics if given the chance. It’s fun to watch and cheer as a part of the crowd but once you actually are competing, it’s a whole different game. Yes, there is that opportunity to gain fame and fortune, but it isn’t really worth it if you feel that your life is on the line every moment. I’d rather be a spectator enjoying myself as opposed to being attacked by fire breathing dragons and blast-end skrewts. I just probably wouldn’t put my name in the goblet because I don’t sign up for things that I won’t do well in. And I most definitely wouldn’t do well when my focus isn’t at the task at hand, but rather how to hex four different types of fire expelling creatures at the same time.

  • If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why?
Not any animal that’s land bound. I’d most likely be a gyrfalcon partially because I’m not that tall and the gyrfalcon is the largest of the falcons. Also, because it’s a bird. Why would you want to walk when you could fly? I’d be able to get out of tight situations and have excellent vision and senses. Anyways, if I was being chased, the sky is a much bigger playing field.

  • If you could be written into any HP Series book as a new character, which book would it be, and who would your character be? Why did you choose that book/character?
I’d want to be in book 4 because I believe that it was in GoF that there was the most inclusion of the other students. With the Triwizard Tournament going on and Malfoy’s being turned into amazing bouncing ferrets, I’d be able to partake in all the action going on. My character would just be a student since isn’t that what Hogwarts is for?

  • What is your favorite magical spell/charm? Why?
I want to say something like legilimens and occlumency, but when I think about it realistically, simple accio is my favorite. Maybe it’s the whole idea of summoning things to you, or maybe I’m just really lazy. It’s just kind of satisfying that it is coming to you and not you making the effort to go to it.

  • Name three reasons why you would like to be sorted into each House.
Gryffindor: I’m not afraid to do something difficult and I’m definitely not a coward. No one hates Gryffindors (aside from Slytherins) so that’d be an added bonus and….they have a good quidditch team.
Hufflepuff- I’d love to have friends who I knew I could count on no matter what. No uncertainties there. I also would never have a bad project partner for they’d be so dedicated to it and they have Cedric don’t they? ^_^
Ravenclaw- Being apart of Ravenclaw would immediately distinguish me as intelligent and that gives me an edge over the others. I’m also analytical as hell and I love a good book.
Slytherin- I’d love to be in such an ambitious and clever environment because there’s nothing that I love more than a smart mouthed person that can make me go “oh snap!” Snape favors his house, obviously, above the others, so being on the good side of such a demanding teacher would be nice. Also, I can twist a situation until it is in my favor.

  • You've received your O.W.L results. What are your results? (You have to have failed or done poorly in at least one subject)
Care of Magical Creatures- O, I work well with animals.
Potions- E, since it’s a lot like chemistry, I’d get the basic gist of it
Divination- A, if you’re not a seer…everything is just tea leaves to me
Transfiguration- O, I’d have fun with this subject so I’d do well
Charms- O, like transfiguration, I’d think this subject was fun and I’d probably charm stuff left and right.
DADA- O, another class where I would be entertained
History- P, I don’t memorize facts well. If they don’t apply to me, then I could care less.
Herbology- A, its somewhat scienc-y so I’d put a bit more effort into it even if it is only about foliage.
Astronomy- A, if it’s anything like history, I’d feel iffy about it since once again, it doesn’t apply to me. Its just stars.

  • If you could have any superpower - but only ONE - what would it be?
Although my favorite spell was Accio, I’d want to be able to learn legilimens. I’d love to be able to look into someone’s memories and thoughts. It’s like reading a book except so much more personal and fascinating because it’s real. Then again, I’d love to be able to stare someone in the eye with a straight face and know that they still hadn’t mastered Diffindo.

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why?
Hmm…. Actually this is a really hard question because I don’t feel that I identify with any of the characters really. Um…. *five minutes later* Um…. Okay I’ll just say Angelina Johnson (or Katie Bell, it doesn’t really matter) because she plays quidditch and loves quidditch and is truly dedicated to quidditch. I love sports. There.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
I dunno. I know that the Mirror shows you what your heart most desires, but I want a lot of little things. Being undisturbed and happy is just as nice. Maybe I’d see myself holding various medals from different road races I’ve won and my significant other of the moment is beside me looking completely smitten and proud of me. Oh and then maybe, it’d flash to an awards ceremony… with more medals and trophies. I like recognition.

  • If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
Put enough away for college and the rest I’d help with my family and then stick it in a box and do nothing with it for a while. My problem is that I don’t like to spend money, but when I do have disposable money on my person… I can go all out. I’d try and ration it out, I suppose, and buy a horse, maybe, and some computer games.

  • Which HP book is your favorite and why?
GoF because I loved reading about the TriWizard tournament. I love how it was basically a ton of mini journeys compacted into one. All the little details in between each task were just a treat to read and I found that yes, it thoroughly caught my attention.

  • Which HP book is your least favorite and why?
OotP because in all actuality, it didn’t catch my attention as much as the others did. I found myself sort of sighing at some points and wishing that it would hurry up and get to something more active and interesting. I felt that though OotP was needed, it ws the book where JKR took the time to explain a lot of mysteries and questions that had been formed from the previous four books and it less of a get go adventure.

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
I wanted to be a vet when I was a kid. The idea of being able to work with animals (oh yay….) for a living was something that my idealistic little mind conjured up. Has it changed? Very much so. When I learned that very few people managed to open up their own office and be the head vet there, my mind was immediately turned around. The idea of being stuck as the “doctor’s assistant” and getting nowhere with a so-so salary was enough to spur me into searching for a new career choice. What is my ideal job now? Honestly? I don’t know. I want to do something eventually….but I have no idea what I want to major in. I had a brief fling with being a jockey and I still can qualify to be one… but then I realized that not everyone turned out to become like millionaire Gary Stevens. Something that pays,

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
I know love potions don’t exist, but that’s why I would want to invent one and I’d call it… ehm…. Amorus Felix. We’ve all probably gone through that phase where you desperately wish that special someone would like you. Well that’s where handy Amorus Felix comes in, I guess. Make someone like you for a day? Not love I suppose. I don’t like the idea of being tied down to only one person. Too much of a good thing isn’t all that good. One day’s good enough for me.

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
It’d most likely turn into something pulled straight from a horror movie. I hate horror movies and they do their job well by scaring me to the end of the earth and back. It isn’t really the gore that gets me, but that dreaded suspense that you know something completely horrific is going to happen. The boggart would be some crazy homicidal murderer with his limbs hanging off him and blood spewing from his nose with his handy chainsaw revving menacingly. When I cast Riddikulus (after having a heart attack) it’d turn into….a penguin. I like penguins. They don’t try and kill you and they waddle.

  • What do you look for in a friend?
I generally don’t “look” for anything in friends because I don’t really go hunting for them. They come to me and if we’re compatible (we don’t annoy the daylights out of each other, can hold a decent conversation etc) then I’m good. I guess I’d want them to have some substance to them, meaning that when they say something, it actually means something as opposed to pointless empty words. I wouldn’t want them to be a complete sleaze, because although I try not to judge others, I most definitely don’t want their reputation to drag me down as well. As for loyalty and trustworthiness, I don’t really mind because I know I can’t be as trustworthy as the ideal.

  • What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?
Get into a good college. I don’t want all this work I’ve put into school to have been worth nothing at the end of the day. I’ve worked hard so that my path won’t be uncertain and that I’ll have a good and prosperous future and by getting into a good college, it basically guarantees that when I graduate, I’ll be qualified for successful jobs. The last thing I’d want is to have something I did in high school affect the rest of my life for the worst. I’d kick myself so badly.

  • What trait most annoys you about other people?
I hate it when people can’t take a message. When you REALLY don’t want to talk to that certain person, it’s almost as if they go out of their way to annoy you or somehow disrupt your life with their presence. It annoys me when they seem as if they’re completely oblivious to the “leave me alone” messages you’re sending them and they choose to continue doing something to you that will annoy you. Sometimes ignorance is NOT bliss.

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
Perfectionism- I like knowing that I’ve handed in an assignment that is flawless; no typos, no grammatical errors, no nothing. If I can try and achieve perfection, what’s stopping me from giving it a go? It never hurt to be good at something.

Competitiveness- I always like someone with a healthy competitive streak. By being competitive, I always have something that I can strive for or try and achieve. It gives me something to better myself at for there’s nothing I hate more than knowing that a friend of mine can do something I can’t.

Independence- I’m the kind of person that prefers to work on a project by themselves. I work better that way because there’s no one to distract me. I don’t depend on my friends and I’m proud to be self sufficient.

Creative- I’m really into art and writing, and I could say that creativity is one of my qualities. I like coming up with new ideas and concepts. A little mind exercise is good for the soul.

Dedication- I try my hardest not to give up when I’m in the middle of something, because if I do, I’ll think of it as defeat. So, with that said, I almost always finish what I’m doing and I’ll put my heart into it if it means a lot to me.

  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
Pride- I admit it. I can be a snob at sometimes. I’m sorry if I like recognition, but when I do something good, there’s nothing I love more than a little pat on the back. And when I don’t get it, I can become obnoxious. I’m not particularly happy about it, but that’s why it’s here.

Apathy- I may seem uncaring sometimes, and it probably is because I am. I’m not the kind of person that likes being all touchy feely and giving hugs and other things like that. So that would make me not the best shoulder to cry on. It just seems that whenever someone comes to me with their problems, something turns off and I get really annoyed because… I honestly don’t care. I know I’ll regret it when the situation turns on me, but for now, I’m that kind of person.

Criticism- Let’s just say that I don’t take it very well. When I’m in an argument, I never say something that I don’t mean, or don’t have evidence to back up my words, so there’s nothing that bothers me more than one someone can come along and pick apart everything I’ve done. I tend to take it personally, whether they meant it or not.

Impatience- I don’t like to wait for something or someone. When I’m impatient, I tend to get cranky and moody. Then I tend to snap at people and become even more pissy. I really need to exercise some patience.

Judgmental- Most of the time, I try and stay open minded because I hate it when I’m accused of being blind to other peoples’ views. Yet even then, I can be quick to judge others according to my personal biases. I really should work on these.

  • Define in your own words the following key traits:
    • Courage: Following through with something even if it is one of your greater fears. Being able to find that inner strength to ignore your so you can complete whatever the task.
    • Loyalty: Staying true to yourself and those you entrusted your faith to. Being truthful and reliable to what you believe.
    • Intelligence: Not just book smarts, but thinking outside the box. Being able to see the wider picture and the hidden messages as well.
    • Ambition: To have the determination to achieve a known purpose and not letting obstacles interfere with your attaining it.

  • Name: Tiffany
  • Age: 15
  • What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? (This question is optional for those who feel they just DO NOT fit in a house. Please explain WHY.)
I’d have to say Hufflepuff because as they are well known as hard-working and loyal to their friends, I see myself as more hard working towards the goals that are actually worth 2 cents to me. I can’t say that I’m loyal and even though I’d love to have loyal friends, I don’t want to set up this double standard. I see myself as more self-motivated as opposed to just motivated in every aspect.

  • Where did you find out about us?
