~*Edited in an attempt to make it longer, give more information.*~

  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
Probably a Healer. The easy answer to "why" is that I plan to be a doctor. The more detailed answer is that I like the idea of being able to help people, I am fascinated by herbs and such, and I think I can, and obviously beautiful and brilliant. I would be the new Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts and would work at St. Mungo's in my free time. People would think I was a bit annoying because I would often tell them what to do and sometimes lose my temper, but they would find I was usually right.

  • What is your favorite magical spell/charm? Why?
Do potions count? Because if you think about it, two of the most powerful and potentially useful magical tools are Veritaserum and Polyjuice. In fact, I think they are only rivaled in usefulness by Legilimency and the Imperius Curse. Of these four, I would say that Veritaserum and Legilimency (which are basically the same thing, though admittedly Legilimency is much more convenient) are the most useful, as they can be used to effectively cancel out the effects of the other two. The more information you have, the better you can act upon it.

  • Name three reasons why you would like to be sorted into each House.
I'll do this in alphabetical order:

Gryffindor- 1. They do have the best Quidditch team.
    2. I would like to be brave. I believe I am, in certain ways. I'm afraid of death, for me and those around me, but I can take pretty much anything else. Okay, maybe not the Cruciatus curse, but you know what I mean, right? I mean I'm not afraid of failure, of being unpopular, of being poor...
    3. I believe that Gryffindors make awesome friends. It would be nice to be surrounded by Gryffindors.

Hufflepuff- 1. Hufflepuffs would probably make good friends, too. They're certainly nice.
    2. I never went for blind loyalty, but kindness is something I can understand. I wouldn't mind being put in the ranks with Cedric Diggory (though preferably without the death part).
    3. I do like to help people, and I suppose Hufflepuff would be the place to do that.

Ravenclaw- 1. It would be so nice to be in a house founded on cleverness. I do believe that it's important to develop one's intellectual side.
    2. I imagine Ravenclaws have the best conversations. I would love the intellectual stimulation.
    3. "Ravenclaw" looks great on a job application. And, well, maybe I want to be able to say, "I'm a Ravenclaw," and be proud of my House's academic excellence.

Slytherin- 1. Let's face it, Slytherin is cool. Slytherins know what they want and how to get it, which is, really, what succeeding at life is all about.
    2. Slytherin is also about cleverness, though this time it is a savoir-faire, a knowledge of people and situations that doesn't come from books.
    3. Though Slytherins can hardly be said to be loyal friends, they would certainly be useful friends and anything but boring.

  • You've received your O.W.L results. What are your results? (You have to have failed or done poorly in at least one subject)
I received a T in History of Magic because I used the essay space to go off on an anarchist rant.
My best subjects were Potions and Herbology- both O's. I got an A each in Care of Magical Creatures and D.A.D.A. The rest are E's.
Arithmancy: E. I love logic, and magic and logic together can only be awesome, and when I'm interested in a subject I do well.
    Astronomy: E. Again, it's a cool subject.
Charms: A. It's a pretty basic subject, so I probably wouldn't put as much effort into it.
D.A.D.A: A. While interesting, it just doesn't fascinate me enough for me to put in all the effort required.
Divination: E. Yeah, I like Divination. Wanna fight about it? I don't believe that it should be dismissed just because it has little relation to other magics. Divination seems to me to be the magic among magic.
Herbology: O. I love it. Plants are so interesting, and Herbology is pretty much the basis of Potions.
History of Magic: T. I used the essay space to go off on a poorly supported anarchist rant.
Potions: O. See above for why I love Potions so much. There is a certain poetry to mixing ingredients in such a precise way as to get the best results.
Transfiguration: D. I felt sorry for the rat they wanted me to turn into a teapot, so I stole it and set it free instead.

  • If you could have any superpower - but only ONE - what would it be?
Healing powers- like an unlimited supply of Phoenix tears. My friends would never die.

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why?
Luna, because I am just that strange. Harry in book five, because I can be angsty. Hermione, because I'm that geeky. Mr Weasley's car, because it runs off into the forest and lives on its own. Hedwig, because she doesn't tolerate mistreatment.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
Well, that's a bit of a personal question, isn't it? I suppose I would see myself, happy, without antidepressants.

  • If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
I would mostly use it to pay for school, then buy all the books I've been wanting and take a year off just to read them. In the Bahamas. I just hope a million would be enough. Oh, and I would eat lots of expensive French pastries.

  • Which HP book is your favorite and why?
OotP is my favorite, mostly because I love it when Harry yells at everyone.

  • Which HP book is your least favorite and why?
Right now, it's HBP, because it is just too sad. I can't deal with the impending lack of Hogwarts. I also hate how Harry is all sort of grown-up and responsible. It feels to me like he lost something when he lost his anger, or like he's just suppressing his feelings. I know it's necessary, but it's really very sad.

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
When I was a kid, I made a list once of all the possible jobs I wanted when I grew up. It was three pages long. When I was in middle and high school, I thought it would be nice not to work at all. Now I know that I would be bored out of my mind not working, and I hope to be a doctor. I will have to write on the side, though, because over the years it's become like breathing.

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
Perhaps something that would give one the ability to pass through walls, like that girl on X-men. I would use it more intelligently, however, and realize that I could let bullets and spells pass through my body without touching me.

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
Mine would probably be like Mrs. Weasley's. I would see the dead body of my best friend. I don't know how you're supposed to make that funny...

  • What do you look for in a friend?
A friend needs to be someone I can talk to, someone who understands me at some level, and someone I can have fun with.

  • What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?
Okay, it's cliché, but it would be great if I found a cure for cancer. So many people I know have been affected by it, mostly people too young to die. I want to wipe it out, so no one ever has to deal with it again.

  • What trait most annoys you about other people?
People trying to control me, or somehow trying to take away my own sense of control over myself. I can't stand it, for example, if some of my more rowdy guy friends pick me up over their shoulders and refuse to put me down. I completely lose it when something like that happens.

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
    1. My ability to love and take comfort in others.
    2. My confidence in my own academic ability.
    3. I'm not afraid to be different from, or even the same as, the people around me.
    4. I plunge whole-heartedly into my passions (for example, HP fandom).
    5. I'm not afraid of hard work.

  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
    1. I fall apart if someone around me is ill or dying or dead. I hate not being able to help my friends.
    2. I can be very selfish.
    3. Sometimes I am quick to judge people, or talk about them behind their back.
    4. I freak out when I have no control over a situation.
    5. After the seventh book comes out, I will not know what to do with myself.

  • Define in your own words the following key traits:
    • Courage: Doing something because you know it is the right thing to do, even though it isn't easy and carries a lot of risk.
    • Loyalty: Mostly something used by the establishment to make blind obedience honorable.
    • Intelligence: The ability to make sense of the world and gather information in a useful way.
    • Ambition: The ability to know what you want, and the willingness to get it despite certain sacrifices or risks along the way.
