That's terrific! We didn't even go for that grant, having no need that's really big enough to warranted funding. Dare I hope that WATER!!:!???? made it into the proposal? And bathrooms?
Thanks!! Water is in the works. Our garden coordinator dismembered a tomato cage to make some dowsing rods, and worked with V to find the water line. We're waiting for the city to hook everything up - but that's over at the garden area, some distance from the plateau! And sadly, no bathrooms, but those could always be added in the future.
This whole thing was done at the last possible moment, I'm still totally shocked that we got it.
WOO. Maybe later in the day, after I get something useful done with myself?
Hummingbirds love sages (especially the scarlet ones, and they do really well here w/ all the sun and little rain), trumpet flowers of all kinds, and tiny insects are a requirement, protein and all. Most things that butterflies dig are also great for them, far as I know, though shallower flowers are hard to eat from, I think?
I HAD a link on attracting them, let me see if I can dig it up...Crap, nope. Teh Googles? *shrug*
I will turn on my phone ringer Saturday and be all easy to contact and stuff. Scarlet sage, good to know. I'm really getting into the sages, pretty and carefree :)
We ran into someone at the garden today who works at a coffeeshop, she's into feminist bioethics, sci fi, and gardening and just attending a conference relating to cyborgs, thought you guys might have some interesting discussions.
