Ray has posted about my boo-boo. Stupid me. I need to get it through my head to plan something of a takeout nature for dinner if I also plan to spend the previous five or so hours in the garden, weeding and trimming trees and such

Awww, thanks. Ray tried to help with dinner last night. It was comical, he was so completely out of his element! Oh well, I am not going to change him. I need to speak up and ask for takeout if I'm too pooped to function in the kitchen!
Thank you. Ray clearly wanted me to go to the ED, but I hate doing that, for two or three reasons. Firstly, I hate stitches. They annoy the crap out of me, and I take them out myself when I CAN'T STAND IT anymore. Secondly, other than the stuff they administer in the hospital, pain meds are the pits. I don't like the way they make me feel generally. The third issue, of course, is the cost. Under our insurance that's negligible, but on top of the other two issues, it's no go for me! The thumb is still darn sore, but thirty-six hours or so later, I don't have a bandage on it and it's healing cleanly. I've heard it said that's one of the benefits of maintaining your knives. The sharper they are, the less damage they do if you cut yourself. *Grimaces*

I'm really glad your thumb seems to be feeling better...that's SCARY that you had to put so much pressure on it. Eeep.
