Holy anachronism, Batman!

Ray and I were watching James Ivory's The Europeans last night, and at one point, I almost fell off the sofa laughing.  The film was made primarily in two historic homes in New Hampshire.  The interiors were beautiful, but evidently there wasn't enough money to pay someone to get all the details right.  In one scene, two characters are having this ( Read more... )

LOL one of our historical films of the '80s proudly featured a medieval warrior with an electronic watch on his wrist. This is nothing compared to that! :)

Hahahahaha! Yeah, Ray and I started joking about what other goofs there might be, once we noticed this! A lot of giggles ensued.

BTW, earlier in the day I was completely engrossed in Shirin, a film from 2008. I wonder if you've heard of it. It's an unusual film, to say the least, and language plays a huge role in it.

At one point, there's an exchange between one of the Sweet Young Things and one of the Stuffy Suitors, along the lines of:

He: I will write to you.
She: I don't write letters.

Me: "But you can Friend me on Facebook!"
