Ray and I were watching James Ivory's The Europeans last night, and at one point, I almost fell off the sofa laughing. The film was made primarily in two historic homes in New Hampshire. The interiors were beautiful, but evidently there wasn't enough money to pay someone to get all the details right. In one scene, two characters are having this heartfelt discussion in front of a window, and you didn't have to look very hard to see a circa-1980 mini-blind in the window behind them, in a movie set in 1850.
