I have a lot more time than you do, & not as many people with whom to share it, so books are often my friends.
The titles in red & blue are books I've read. I had them marked with strike-throughs, but that made it hard to read & to count, so I'm experimenting with other formats. It may get changed up again.
Which ones have I enjoyed? Ignoring the books I've re-read (most of which I re-read because they are comfort books & I very much like them, especially anything by Elizabeth George & Terry Pratchett)...
I've read the first two books in the Flavia de Luce mystery series, by Alan Bradley. They are quite good. The protagonist is an 11-year-old girl who is fascinated by chemistry & death. They are set in 1950s England (which somehow seems much more backward than 1950s America). Bradley writes her very well, & I am fascinated to hear more of her voice & to see how her life happens.
The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake sucked me in & has stuck with me
