Hi comm

I need your help badly please! I'm in a bad situation, as something unexpected happened with a plushie I sold.

If you remember, recently I held the plush auction on which kingwillko won the swampert. Today kingwillko contacted me with suspicions that swampert could be bootlegged because its hang tag and the tush tag don't match

I have a 2005 Ho-oh here and it has the same tush tag with Japanese writing on it, and its not a bootie. I can go look at some of my other old Pokedolls too... brb :P

My 2004 Squirtle and Bulbasaur also have Japanese writing on their tags! My 2006 PDs dont ... it looks like it was for ones from 2005 and earlier.

None of these early ones of mine have hang tags though, so I can't help with verifying how they priced/barcoded the tags back then.

I'm pretty sure it is a legit Swampert Pokedoll, since the japanese ones never got pokedoll art. And my Rayquaza and Latios Pokedolls came with similar tags when I ordered them from the Pokemon Center website a long time ago. The hang tag was English and what not and the tush tag was Japanese, I thought it was pretty cool. So I'm pretty sure it's okay.

Actually reading these other post, as with the bar code, I don't remember since they are long gone. Hope that can get solved.

I remember there being bootleg swamperts back in 2010? Yours doesn't have the barcode on the tag which is an indication of bootlegs... ._. I'm sorry.

Did you buy this off ebay? I remember someone saying to watch out for bootlegs re-tagged with legit tags to avoid suspicion.

I traded it with somebody off deviantart, however when I made the post to ask if it was legit, people left and right were saying it was lefit

you have any screencaps or people buying these as anecdotes? been on this com since late 2009/early 2010 and I have never seen a bootleg swampert for sale anywhere. I also have a genuine mew pokedoll with no barcode which was purchased for me from epcot

No screencaps, I do remember warnings about them on ebay and seeing questions of whether they were legit or not when swampert came up for sale.

You purchased it yourself/got it in a pick-up? Well then i think that's a good indication swampert is legit. :)

It looks like you might be safe!! Back when I was younger (say, 6 years ago) I used to order pokedolls off of the pokemoncenter website. I just checked their tags..and the results were mixed. My 2005 jolteon and 2007 shinx both had english on their tush tags, but my 2005 lucario and 2005 latias both had japanese. However, all are for sure american-bought pokedolls

Most of my old ones are without paper tags...but I can confirm that two of them did have barcodes (one of them being shinx, who I bought at nintendo world myself)

I had gotten a Ho-Oh Pokedoll off PokemonCenter.com when it was still around, and I remember it's tushtag being in Japanese. :) If the doll itself looks fine, I wouldn't worry too much about it!
