I saw this and the first thing that popped into my mind was that, as an OT, I could help you rehab it!

I read that scaphoid sprains/breaks are the worst, as it's one of the main supports for your rest and it hurts like a bitch and your whole hand becomes unstable if it's injured.

So! I hope that the healing goes well! Don't overstrain it at your job. :)

Oh how, I wish I was near you. So far the Ortho didn't prescribe any rehab just the RICE. But if you have any ideas of exercises, or particular stretches etc that I should do, please let me know. And that scaphoid did hurt like a bitch, as a matter of fact it's still sort of sore but the splint being gone and having a brace instead feels like 75% percent better. There's still some visible bruising but as long as it's not broken I'm okay ( ... )

Hmm. I don't have my muscle function books (they were borrowed), but stretching and trying to keep a good range of motion in your hand is a good idea. I can't name any specific glides off the top of my head, especially since I can't show them. Maybe something like the ones shown in this video can help. Definitely use the brace and/or splint if they help! :) I think the reworking of your work station is also an excellent idea.

I hope you can mesh soon too, but definitely don't if it strains your wrist even further.

I've book marked the video, it also had some others along the side that looked interesting as well. I'm making myself keep the brace on. I was so excited yesterday that I may have over done it. I'm a bit sore today, so I've been resting. It also made a believer out of me that it will be awhile before I can do something as intense as meshing :_: I was intending on trying to start up the weekend. I know, I'm hard headed. Life teaches us quite quickly though.

You take it easy, madame!
I'm glad to hear it's not as serious as it could be, though. :)

Yep, learned that lesson yesterday, I went crazy on the computer (Yes, I even opened up milkshape and thought about meshing) and today I woke up in agony. So back to the tablet and iPod a bit longer. And I made myself keep the brace on too. I'd conveniently forgotten about the sprained part of the injury, but it reminded me today. XD

Jessy sent me a link to a video for hand and wrist exercises so I think I'll try those, maybe starting next week. I go for a follow up in 2 weeks, so hopefully, I'll get the all clear to resume all normal activities. Even though they said 3-4 weeks, I'm hoping the exercises and being good will get some of that time shaved off.

Oh no! Well, at least you won't be doing that again. :(
I definitely hope the wrist exercises help, and it's also something to do while you wait. Waiting sucks. xD
