Oh how, I wish I was near you. So far the Ortho didn't prescribe any rehab just the RICE. But if you have any ideas of exercises, or particular stretches etc that I should do, please let me know. And that scaphoid did hurt like a bitch, as a matter of fact it's still sort of sore but the splint being gone and having a brace instead feels like 75% percent better. There's still some visible bruising but as long as it's not broken I'm okay.
I'm already going to get a mouse pad with a gel wrist support, and sort of rearrange my work station. I have my lap top closer to me than my work keyboard & mouse right now, so I constantly lean and/or twist to the left to type or view the screen and use the keyboard.
Partly because I hook my laptop up to my TV all the time to watch Netflix and movies, but I figure investing in a longer HDMI cable will be better than a raggedy wrist. I was really worried about not being able to mesh anymore. I've have literally been going mad not being able to do anything in that area. I'm anxious to start back but I can wait for the 3-4 weeks that I have to. I'm pretty sure after those 10 hr days I'm not going to want to do much but rest it for awhile any way.
Hmm. I don't have my muscle function books (they were borrowed), but stretching and trying to keep a good range of motion in your hand is a good idea. I can't name any specific glides off the top of my head, especially since I can't show them. Maybe something like the ones shown in this video can help. Definitely use the brace and/or splint if they help! :) I think the reworking of your work station is also an excellent idea.
I hope you can mesh soon too, but definitely don't if it strains your wrist even further.
I've book marked the video, it also had some others along the side that looked interesting as well. I'm making myself keep the brace on. I was so excited yesterday that I may have over done it. I'm a bit sore today, so I've been resting. It also made a believer out of me that it will be awhile before I can do something as intense as meshing :_: I was intending on trying to start up the weekend. I know, I'm hard headed. Life teaches us quite quickly though.
