Day Off

*yawns*

I'm tired.  Had today off, and while I didn't sleep in as long as I did yesterday, I didn't get up too early this morning.  Continued my cleaning, and actually managed to discover some lost carpet space in front of my bookcase.

Ooo, my bookcase.  It's all clean and spiffy and organized now.  Because I have limited space in my room, I only ( Read more... )

I have way too many books as well. The lack of space is the only reason that's stopping me from buying more books! I need a library like Belle's. :D

Seriously. When I picture my dream house, I picture a huge library with a ladder, hee.

Blame Beauty and the Beast and Belle sliding across the bookcase on the ladder, lol.

And I seriously *gigglesnort*-ed at your icon. My friend at work who has read all the books, finally saw the movie the other day and all we did was quote it, including the "This is a pen. This is a PEN!" line. XD

There is no such thing as too many books. There is such a thing as not enough book space ~_^

I really need to do the book/clothes sorting thing myself. I love doing it, really. It's relaxing, putting all of your stuff in order (or maybe it just is to me---I'm a bit of a nerd). And I understand the "too many books" sentiment. I've got a bookshelf that goes up to the ceiling that is double-stacked, and then I have stacks underneath my desk.

....And I just keep buying more, lol.

Oh, I hear you. I may not always like to clean, but it can be very relaxing, especially if I get in the Zone. But when it comes to my books., it's crazy. It kills me that so many are in storage, when I don't have anywhere to put what I have out now. My shelves may look neat, but I have three piles of books stacked on top of the bookcase and it's pretty high.

And no, that doesn't stop me from buying more, lol.

I find the fact that you have a Japanese strip mall near you to be incredibly cool for some reason!

I know what you mean about books taking up so much space. My room is actually pretty spacious, but I have a lot of books. Unlike you, I can't bear to part with any of my books! It just about kills me. x3 My shelves need organizing badly the only thing that's organized are my Doctor Who/Stargate book series and my Animorphs book collection. Even my "to read" books are scattered amongst the various shelves and crannies in my bedroom. O_o

(And AWESOME you have 1st edition LMA books. Best book find I've got is an autographed Tamora Pierce book, and a advanced reader copy of "Kingdom Keepers" x3)

Sammiches never count as fast food, they're too delicious.

Line dancing! That's so cool that you get to do that. :3 We don't have any cool classes around here. *pouts*

Believe me when I say I hate having my books in storage. It kills me, but I really don't have the room for them. When I lived with my Mom, I actually built a bigger bookcase with my stepdad because I didn't have enough shelf space for the books I had. And, then I moved and put most of my books in boxes and that's where they've stayed. *sniffles* I don't think I'll be complete until I have them all out.

Ooo, autographed books are fun! My favorite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. The copy I have is a first edition, but that isn't what makes it special to me. Not even the fact that it's my favorite book. What means the most is what was written inside on the front cover page. The book was written in 1943, and my copy was given as a gift from a wife to her husband, and inside she wrote "To Daddy on our 9th wedding anniversary, Love Mommy". Makes me smile every time I read it.

The Japanese stripmall isn't too far from me, and I try to go every now and them. At the supermarket they have these rice crackers that I LOVE, lol. ( ... )
