Day Off

*yawns*

I'm tired.  Had today off, and while I didn't sleep in as long as I did yesterday, I didn't get up too early this morning.  Continued my cleaning, and actually managed to discover some lost carpet space in front of my bookcase.

Ooo, my bookcase.  It's all clean and spiffy and organized now.  Because I have limited space in my room, I only have a small three shelf bookcase that sits next to my closet and believe me when I say that it doesn't hold half the books I have out of storage.  For the most part, all of my books are in storage, and aside from one shelf, everything I have in my room at the moment are books I've bought within this last year.  I only have one group of books I do not keep in storage, for fear of something happening to them: my old books (and when I say old, I mean old, the oldest edition I have of anything is an 1872 Louisa May Alcott, not to mention the few first edtions I have).  Anyway, I ended up making a three piles as I was cleaning: 1) books I've read, 2) books I haven't read, and 3) books I don't want anymore.  That last pile was sold to a used bookstore called Book-Off that sells used books, dvds and cds in both English and Japanese-because it's a Japanese store in a Japanese stripmall (and in the end I got $22, which doesn't sound like much, but it's money I didn't have and they sell the items cheap there, so it's better than nothing).  Pile #1 was organized on the shelves: the first shelf holds my mangas, the second many of the current books I've read, and the third my old books.  Pile #2, well, it's sitting on top of my bookcase, all 33 books I haven't read.  This means that until I've read all of them, or, at least most of them, that I will not be buying any new books (a few of my "To-Read" books are collections of short stories, so I'm counting those different).

*sigh*
I have too many books.

I also managed to get most of my old clothes gathered together and dropped them off at this church by my apartment.  The church is at the end of this stripmall, in what used to be a small two-three screen movie theater, and it has a "Donate Shoes and Clothes Here" bin right outside.  I figured my old things might as well be able to go to good use somewhere.

Aside from that, I didn't have much else to do today.  Made a return at Target, grabbed lunch at Mitsuwa (and no, I don't consider the sandwich I got fast food, because I bought it at the bakery), stood in line for about 20 minutes at the Post Office to mail out a package to my Mom and a letter to a cousin, and then came home.  My line dancing class was tonight, but apparently the sandwich I ate did not agree with me, so all I'm going to say is that I did not end up going to class, which disappointed my one aunt, but I'm sure she wouldn't have wanted me there anyway.  Instead, I put on my pj's, climbed into bed and relaxed watching some tv and making a new header for my journal (which, unless I did something wrong or my computer is just being stupid, should be up, but I'm only seeing a strip of it, which frustrates me).

Any of you have a good day out there?
