The door opens, the bell rings, the humid summer air blows inside the store, and Jong Hyun doesn’t even bother to look up and see who it is. He knows it’s them again. Taemin and Minho had both been coming back every day, and for some reason, Jong Hyun doesn’t like it. His stomach does flips, and coils itself around every time he sees them together, and he didn’t quite know why.
“Maybe Key was right…no, I can’t possibly like Taemin. I barely even know him! Then…am I jealous because he’s with Minho…? Maybe…” Jong Hyun sighed as he lifted his gaze up to look at them quickly, and then returned to wiping a nearby table with a rag. “No, that’s stupid! This is all so…urgh!” he threw the rag on the ground in frustration, before he noticed Taemin standing in front of him, watching him curiously.
“T-Taemin! How long have you been there?” He laughed nervously.
“Oh, just now. Hyung, are you okay?”
“I-I’m fine, just fine.” He picked up the rag from the floor, avoiding any eye contact. “What do you want?”
“Uhm, I don’t know if you have any but, can we have some ice cubes?” Taemin smiled cutely at him
“We don’t have any.”
“Oh.” Taemin’s face fell, and a surge of panic grasped Jong Hyun.
“B-but I can make you some!” He offered, his heart fluttering when Taemin’s face lit up again.
“Thanks, Hyung~” Taemin skipped away, and Jong Hyun stood in place, wondering how in the hell he would make
ice. Jinki entered the store, and Jong Hyun got an idea.
“Jinki what’re you doing here? Did Key send you too? Oh, nevermind. Mind watching the store for me while I’m gone? Thanks.” He took off before the older boy could protest, and headed towards the closest convenience store. “I’m going to buy ice.” He said determinedly.
--
Jong Hyun came back with a smile, holding up a plastic bag that contained ice. He had just walked five blocks from where he was, because all the nearby stores were apparently sold out of ice. That smile disappeared, however, when he saw that Taemin and Minho weren’t there anymore.
“W-where are they? Where are they, Jinki?!” he questioned the older one.
“They, uh, left? Minho said he was going to buy Taemin some ice cream instead, so he didn’t have to wait for you. I tried to stop them, but Minho was stubborn.” Jinki sighed. “I only came here to bring Taemin’s sweater to him cuz Key told me to. But then I finally got what Key had been telling me about this past week about you and Taemin. You like him, don’t you?”
“Oh, what? Did Key tell the whole world about that or something? Everyone knows!” Jong Hyun threw the bag of ice on the ground, and the pieces flew everywhere. Jinki ducked to avoid them, and when he took a step forward, he stepped on a piece and slipped.
“You should clean this up” Jinki winced, getting up. “And I’m going back to Key before he worries too much.” Jinki started walking towards the door, but he stopped midway and turned back. “You know, if you really like Taeminnie that much, don’t let him go to Minho just like that. Fight for your love.” He smiled before he slipped away, and Jong Hyun was left to himself again. He sighed and sat on the ground, trying to piece things together.
“I don’t like Taemin. I don’t. Then am I just jealous because he’s with Minho? Then does that mean I still like Minho? No, I definitely don’t. Ah, what the hell is this? I think I do like Taemin.” He winced at the horror of having to admit to Key that he was right, and sighed in defeat. “Oh well. Jinki’s right. I can’t let Minho just take him like that.”
With that determination, he picked up the rest of the ice cubes before they melted and he had to mop them. Even though closing wasn’t until an hour, he decided to pack up and close the store. He wanted to get Key’s help about the matter, and he wanted it as soon as he can.
However, the moment he opened his apartment door, he wished he hadn’t done so in the first place. He stood in place, speechless. Shivers-the bad kind-ran up his spine, and he wanted to scrape his eyeballs out of their sockets.
Jinki sat on his couch, Key perched on top of him, grasping his shoulders. Key moaned as he grinded their hips together, and the older boy’s head was thrown back as his hands found their way around Key’s waist, moaning louder with each roll of Key’s hips against his.
Jong Hyun was just about to leave, when he realized that it was his apartment to begin with. “And this is why you don’t give Key spare keys to your apartment…” he said under his breath, shaking his head. He closed his eyes and walked in slowly, softly, and opened them just in time to see Key unbuttoning Jinki’s shirt.
“Yah! Key! What the hell are you doing?!” He yelled, and Key immediately fell off Jinki’s lap in surprise.
“What the hell is your problem?!” Key winced as he got up, taking Jinki’s hand in his. Jinki‘s head was bowed down, trying not to look at Jong Hyun because he was too embarrassed.
“Oh, I’m sorry. What’s my problem? You were the one…eating your boyfriend in my living room, on my couch, and you ask me what my problem is?!” Jong Hyun scoffed.
For once, Key was speechless.
