so...you know those commercials (visa or mastercard or something) where people are chastised for using cash or writing a check and "ruin" everything because they didn't use a debit card? I HATE those commercials, with a passion.

That said, I also hate people who, whatever method they are using to pay, do not have it out and ready to go by the time I finish ringing their shit up.

agreed. But that's what makes me hate the commercials even more! the people always have their checkbooks out and ready to go, and always write the checks quite quickly, and yet still, it's not good enough!

Hmm...suggestions you say? I've always been fond of the grand romantic gesture. For instance: a nice evening in, dinner with all the accoutrements, big fancy dessert, a bottle of chilled red wine, candles, and other such good fun times. Followed (of course) by a favorite movie curled up on the couch and a moonlit walk under the stars.

thanks for the suggestion. I'm actually trying to avoid cooking for him though, since that's my old standard...plus I can't cook meat, and while he appreciates my vegetarian cooking, it's meat that makes a special meal for him. And also, sadly, there aren't many places around here for safe moonlit walks, nor are there many stars to be seen in the DC sky. I'm wracking my brain trying to come up with something both unconventional and special.
