Grimmy and Tumblr dump

Aug 09, 2012 16:03

I have a grinding headache today, which of course is the day that the handyman chose to replace my back door, complete with insanely loud power tools and lots of hammering. Meanwhile all my cool air is flowing out the open door (and the heat index today is 102F - 39C). Also the landlady's in and out measuring windows for new blinds and talking ( Read more... )

You have such a great eye with Sim-capping. I particularly love that screenshot with Golly and Mindy! Did you set that up like that or did it just happen that the easel and trees were there when they kissed.

I kinda consider Thomas and Peter my 'legacy' family but I'm not really trying hard to do Legacies in 3. There's just too many things going on to play with to bother focusing heavily on legacies! but I'm loving your families! They're all so full of character!

And what the heck! How on earth did you get a Grimmy on the CAS, I wonder. O.O

Aw, thanks! I didn't set it up, but I did swivel the camera around to get a good angle. And I fiddled with it in Gimp, too, as the original was pretty dark (and also it's just fun to fiddle with screenshots, sometimes.)

I don't know how Grim popped up, but it did happen shortly after I installed Master Controller... maybe he's the TRUE Master Controller! :O

Yes, yes it is fun! Although I still can't figure out where the Retro and other filters are you've been using. Nothing shows up under the filters.

And... maybe he is!

O.O I wonder if there's some sort of 'unlock all costumes' feature in MC that I missed. I don't tend to random pick SIms or clothes, so I may have that option too.

Hmm... I unlocked hair and beards for both genders. If there's a clothing feature it might be there.

The Gimp stuff, I'm using scripts that I downloaded from various places. Let me find the links...

Vintage look - Once installed, you find it under Filters -> Artistic -> Vintage Look
Many different ones - find under Colors > Curves > the triangle button next to the + button > Import Settings from File, and then a pop-up window comes up for you to choose them from. That second link also tells you where to install scripts ( ... )

Disgruntled toddler Dorothy is very cute.

Ooh, you could have a Dead Like Me family! How fun would that be? (I'd so have to name the male head of household Mandy, for Mandy Patinkin--I'd make him assy like Patinkin too!).

A Dead Like Me family would be epic!

Now I'm curious about moving the Reaper in. I haven't had a death yet, but when I do I'm going to try it. I wonder if he sleeps, swims, and works out in the robes, or if he switches to other outfits like normal sims?

I swear your name is NOT on that post-it, but you just made me get all nostalgic about Dead Like Me! :P

Also, I love you sims. Mindy especially is so adorable!! <3

:O My name better not be on the post-it! My kitties need their mom!

Thank you! Mindy would blush to hear that... ^_^

Hope that paintinator is finally finished and that your landlady is all blinded out and that you get the chance to have a weekend doing what you want to do, headache free of course.

Having Death appear in CAS is cool. I've only ever had him appear once but then, it wasn't really him, it was a TSM knight.

I'd noticed that The Sims Medieval sims were saved as .sim files so I decided to drop a couple into TS3 to see how they looked. Death appeared.

To be totally honest, I so prefer the looks of the TSM sims.

(BondChick linked me to some TSM eyes and told me about TSM skins on Maty but couldn't find them. However, now I've found the chin slider I may try looking once again and give it another go.)

Well, the Paintinator was back today but he just left - leaving behind the foul smell of oil enamel paint. But at some point all this will be done (I hope).

I was curious about those skins, and I didn't see them on MATY, but I found this: http://mysims3blog.blogspot.com/2011/04/medieval-skins-converted-by-araenna.html

Not sure if they're the same ones or not, but they'd be worth a try. :)

PS. Your Death Knight was cool! Too bad the robe and cowl didn't fit him.

Ooh, thank you for that link. (And Mediafire is working again for me now.) I think I'll go download the TSM eyes and have a play tomorrow.

Hope that the foul smell clears quickly. Though I guess that, with air conditioning, it's a bit counter productive to open the windows; and, even if you did, your cats would probably want out. Oh dear, that's not very uplifting of me to say that, sorry. Let's see. Positivity. It will be finished before too long.

Oh and, before I forget, yes that was a photo of one of the cats. Baggy (Leopardspots Bageera - his 'posh' name) mid yawn. :)

Edit: sorry, think that new user pic might be a bit irritating.

The paparazzi monkey? It's cute. ^_^

Your kitties are beautiful and I am very envious. I love Bengals.

The smell is gone. The doors aren't right. New locks as well as paint. Pros: One key to fit them all. Cons: Can't lock both the top and bottom lock at the same time, because the handyman isn't as handy as he should be and they don't line up.

By throwing my considerable weight against the front door, I can lock the deadbolt. But the back door, even K. can't lock it. Fortunately I also have a security bar (like this, but doesn't have an alarm). But he needs to make them right; I don't like not being able to lock my doors properly when I leave the house.
