The word I heard on the news this morning was that East Carson will be closed to vehicle traffic from 10th Street to 22nd Street, and since Hot Metal corresponds to 29th Street, I'd *think* you should be fine with that, assuming you can get a spot in one of the garages there.

But I wouldn't assume you'll be able to get home to Oakland, as they're planning on closing Forbes from McKee to Bigelow, and greatly restricting street parking along that whole stretch within a block or so of Forbes, which is going to cause all kinds of massive traffic jams.

Thanks for such detailed information! I actually live in North Oakland, a block or two from officially being in Shadyside, so fortunately I don't need that part of Forbes to get home (can just cross the Hot Metal, drive up the hill and go through the park to avoid South Oakland almost completely).

Sounds like this might be a plan, neato...

Park Downtown at the First Avenue garage, walk across the 10th St Bridge. You'll park easier and get home quicker, probably.

based on my experience with past super bowls, you should be able to get home via hot metal bridge. mainly just avoid east carson street between south side works and the 10th street bridge.
