#4 is reference to a British TV show, I believe.

Wouldn't want to be a mod, though.

Could you summarize what the intent is for moderation in this community ( ... )

Yeah, that's really it in a nutshell. I've been on several communities that went to shit (small amounts of blue language is pretty OK - I don't say anything unless somebody else is offended enough to bring it to my attention) because there wasn't an active mod and one person started some wank and the whole thing died. Hell, I was on a charity knitting community that got so wanktastic that nobody could post anything anymore without drama in the comments ( ... )

Okay, and--aw, jeez, I go to the "info" page for the community, and there's all the rules and guidelines already listed in perfect clarity. Whups and duh. Sorry for not looking there first.

1. For the prestige, of course.

2. Does being a psychologist qualify me?

3. It's about Pittsburgh! I mean, who wouldn't want to be involved with a journal of and about Pittsburgh?

4. Any Sunday when the Steelers are playing.

Could "What's your perfect Sunday?" refer to the film "Hot Fuzz"? Don't know if the question originated there or if the movie was just referencing an already existing cultural phenomenon.

Not sure either, but yup, from Hot Fuzz. :)

1. Why do you want to be a mod?
Well, you offered. And I like LiveJournal.

2. Why do you think you would make a good mod?
I'm on, around, or within shouting distance of LiveJournal for about 75% of the day. I'm well-equipped to participate actively and address problems quickly. Also, I enjoy tagging things and could complete the archives.

3. What does the job of pittsburgh moderator mean to you?
Being a regular presence to encourage activity, mediate drama, and maintain a pleasant atmosphere.

4. What's your perfect Sunday?
Coffee and breakfast in the morning with the PG and City Paper, and the occasional walk around Oakland.

Even if you don't become a mod, you should still tag the archives. :)

If you don't mind someone who is familiar with the area, (all the way down to Morgantown WV even) even though I no longer live in the area, is originally from a foreign country, and is rabid about all things Pittsburgh sports, I'm game. Besides, the American half of my family would be proud, as they're from the area and most of them still live there...and there's bloody loads of them...

1. Why do you want to be a mod?

Make life more interesting on lj land for me.

2. Why do you think you would make a good mod?

I mod on a few fandom communities that make this one look like a quaint English tea party with all the trimmings. Trust me, if I can handle a couple of Doctor Who comms, this would be a cinch!

3. What does the job of pittsburgh moderator mean to you?

Making sure the kiddies play nicely.

4. What's your perfect Sunday?

Parked in front of the telly watching footy. And by 'footy' I mean the Steelers, Rugby (I'm originally from New Zealand), and Aussie rules.

Oh I love New Zealand. I lived in Wellington for 8 months and it was the best city ever.

Wellington is nice, but I'm originally from Christchurch. As is Mum's side of the family. Dad's side is Pittsburgh, hence why I know a wee bit about the area. ;) I'm actually flying into town this up coming week to surprise my grandmother.
