Haters Gonna Hate.

How is it possible that there hasn't been a post about Jeff Reed yet?

I'll start:

I was riding a subway going across the bridge into Manhattan when I got a text (from the WPXI app, which I hafta admit, I kinda love) which read "The Pittsburgh Steelers have cut Jeff Reed." I gasped audibly and people stared at me.

It's been due for a while. His kicks haven't been too bad, but remember last year when he was the only defense available on special teams and he just gave the guy a half-hearted tap?

Blaming a bad game on the field. Really, Jeff?
So lame.

He had some great years here...hopefully he'll find himself a niche somewhere.

Honestly, I know Heinz Field is a tough place to kick, and that being a kicker is a thankless job, so I get what Reed was trying to say, but...yeah. He was perhaps complaining too much. I'm also surprised he didn't get axed earlier...

All that said, he's going to be a tough act to follow, and I'm going to miss him.

He was having a poor season, and the turf argument doesn't hold up considering he performed poorly during away games on different fields.

The Rooneys have a low tolerance for players who talk trash about the organization and fans, e.g. Santonio Holmes.

And there's likely some behind-the-scenes drama that we're not privy to.

tl;dr: I'm not surprised.
