I am looking for Graduate programs. I am considering applying to Point Park University in Pittsburgh. Now, I am from the midwest so I don't know anything about this school

Like any school, it's known to have strengths and weaknesses. Point Park's rep is mostly built on dance and theatre programs, and I think I've heard something about a good journalism program (not really sure). It's definitely not thought of the same way as ITT, but rather than go on the impressions of locals I might do some research with professionals in the field you want to enter. As long as they don't think Point Park's grad program in your area of study is a joke, you're probably good.
I'd also point out that we have a TON of other colleges here, most of them quite well-respected, so don't write Pittsburgh off if you decide PP isn't for you!
Thanks for the perspective; that helps to hear from a local. I agree that I need to find some people who work in the major I am interested in (Business Management in Information Technology.)
One problem that I sadly face is that I don't quite have a 3.0 GPA (really rough time my first two years of college,) so I can't pick just any program sadly. I'm searching the US for schools that say 3.0 or above for the last 60 credits. (I have a 3.4 for my last 60 credits)
So... yeah... hence why I was considering Point Park. :)
It is from a Doctor Who episode from last season when the Doctor and Amy visited Vincent Van Gogh. There was a scene where they were all laying down on the ground looking up at the stars and they basically got to see the stars through Van Gogh's eyes and the icon is basically how he saw the sky. :)
see...i would consider robert morris along the same lines as ITT or something. I would consider point park a university. i think i distinguish things in two ways: college and university. but that's just my two cents. I never went to either but I know someone who got a degree at point park and he's fine.
Point Park is in the process of becoming a proper university (including re-evaluating the core academic classes, whoo!) (They asked one of my undergrad classes to fill out a survey. To a student, we all bitched about the core academic classes being too easy. Even the honors ones.) (I'm a film student
( ... )
I would just caution you not to think about all "colleges" the same as there are many that are as reputable as universities - they are just distinguished differently.
Not that I even care to defend the university I graduated from, but RMU is a university and it actually takes really good care of the Business program from what I saw. If you are another major, that's a different story however.

She's told me many times that Point Park's academic classes are pretty much a joke, since they're so focused on the dance/theatre aspect.
