Mainly customer service, call center, and clerical.

How far do you live from the 46G bus line?

Can you wait tables?

No sarcasm intended, you probably also want to change your LJ name to something that's not "Little Miss Unstable" if you're looking for job leads. Aim for stability, even if right now sucks.

I live right by it - I've never waited tables to be honest, but I have a lot of experience in customer service.

Didn't even think about the name, heh - I didnt exactly think there would be employers looking for employees in this community, I just thought that maybe someone could give me some suggestions because I have almost no time left.

Any job that pays tips starts to pay immediately; any job that pays a paycheck will be at least three to four weeks before you see a dime.

Waiting tables is the easiest to get, and it pays tips. It's not going to pay great, but it's quick money.

Back near the end of 1999, I took the test to work for the 2000 Census (yes, there is a test you have to take first, mostly about quickly & accurately handling numbers). Didn't get a call to work for them until March or April which was near the end of the Census taking period. By then it wasn't worth the effort for the short time of employment offered. A lot of the jobs are field workers and you may (not absolutely sure about this) need your own transportation for that.

Little's Shoe Store in Sq. Hill is looking for a cashier. The managers and the owners are fabulous, kind people. You might try there.

Yea it would be way far - I'd have to get a bus to downtown then to squirrel hill and it'd take almost 2 hours. I'm willing to go a bit out of my way rather than be on the street or in a women's shelter, but that just doesn't seem very feasible. I appreciate the suggestion though.

Do you know if they're looking for full time or part time? I'm interested in possibly getting a part time job.

I doubt I'd be able to be hired for something like that immediately, but I will try that once I find a place that can hire me right now. I'm definitely going to be looking for something better - thank you.
